1 hour before appt I receive an aggressive call from Angie, the office manager, that I can’t be seen unless I pay for missed appointments from 2018 that I never made. Seriously? I have been with Marissa for 12 years! I won’t deal with such disrespect and will be looking for a new Dr. Such a shame as Marissa has no control over how staff treats longtime patients. It’s not about the money, but the principle.

By far the most unprofessional medical staff my family and I have ever dealt with anywhere in the US. They never have Office managers in the offices to set appointments or help with issues that the front staff cause like “losing insurance info, new patient information multiple times etc. I do not recommend this facility especially if you are military and using tricare . Save yourself the headaches and find somewhere more professional and actually cares for patients.

I have been going here for years and while I have mostly great things to say, there have been a couple of incidence that should be known.

Staff: Terrific! The staff really works with you to get things done. They don't make excuses and give you the rub around. The staff seem to care about you as an individual.

Doctors :
Are knowledgeable and listen to you as a patient. They will work with you to help you with whatever ailments you have, and have compassion and it is a more family atmosphere.

Management :

I had my first interaction with the manager Angie yesterday due to a no show charge. In my personal opion she was extremely rude and not understanding for my view of the situation. She at one point said "we have sent out numerous letters, you should have known about the missed dates!" When I told her that her office had the wrong address in the system she did not apologize or address her mistake. I found her unpleasant and unprofessional. I was kind and was trying to explain my side of the situation and it showed me that she did not care in the least.

Overall, I find it very difficult to understand how an office has such amazing Physicians and staff that have a manager that is rude to someone they have never spoken to on their initial meeting. I saw a previous review about the management and usually when I see a negative review I take it with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, this persons account seems to be correct. My hope is that I will have the continued great care and support from the staff like always.

I have been a patient here for years, as was my dad. Tanner McKendree was whom I always had my visits with. He listened, NEVER pushed unnecessary medications, or questioned me on my symptoms. He was ALWAYS caring, compassionate and professional. I recently moved to New York and will truly miss the care I received.
I must also add the phlebotomist was top notch and NEVER missed.
THANK YOU for you care of my dad and myself. I will forever be grateful. Continued success to you all.

Although some of the staff members are very kind, the ones that stand out are the few disrespectful ones and the office manager. The office manager is just awful, she is disrespectful and completely lacks empathy. On occasion I have been a few min late (5-10) because of the distance and the construction that congests the road. This is a well known problem coming from 54. Any time I am late I call, usually waiting on hold for 15-20 min at any given time. The person who answers always tells me it is no big deal as they have a 15 min policy. When I get there I get yelled at about being 5 to 10 min late and they demand evidence that I called and got permission. This is usually when they bring the manager out (Angela) to yell at me like a child and tell me how I am going to be last because I was 5 min late. The staff has yelled me a few times for no reason. I am a grown woman and do not deserve to be yelled at for seeking care. Empathy and compassion go a long way in the medical field.

The last time I tried to schedule (several months ago), the nurse Teresa told me they would not see me because they didn't like the reason I gave them (generic conditions flair up). She screamed at me on the phone and hung up. Due to the history of this happening I began recording my calls with them. In the call you can clearly hear me very calm and polite as she's screaming at me. When she refused to schedule after several minutes I told her the call was being recorded and she hung up. I have evidence that I've never been anything but kind to them, they don't care about people at all.

Edit: it was always less than 15 min. I have always been respectful even though respect is not what I received back. When she says they "accommodated" me, they had us wait several hours because we were 5 minutes late. There are a variety of reviews on a variety of sites that all say the same thing, the staff members are very rude and disrespectful.

I have had Dr. Nystrom as my primary physician for over 20 years and have followed him to this present location. I love everything about this office and ALL of the staff. I have had only positive experiences here from the receptionists, labs, nurses, PA's and Dr. Nystrom. I can't wait until my Mom moves to the area so she can go here too!
