I was seen in the practice by the nurse for medications and the owner of the practice as a therapist. When the nurse suddenly left me without meds and gave absolutely zero notice, Liza found people to step in and make sure I was not left without meds. The last few times I saw the nurse it was over video chat and my appointment lasted 4 minutes and she absolutely did not listen or want to hear to anything I was saying. She was the one who asked to be paid in cash because I have consistently had my card on file with Liza and have been charged after sessions for over a year.
When I was in the waiting room, I heard patients discussing how rude Rachel was and how she was completely annoyed and unresponsive. I say good riddance!

Do not choose this practice for your mental health and psychiatric medication needs. The turn over of staff is unacceptable for a safe and productive mental health service. The owner does not value your mental health.
Twice I have had the rug pulled out from under me by my therapist/nurse practitioner "leaving the practice" with "no notice". This NP was the best doctor I have seen in NYC so this was the final straw.
The communication that represents the whole practice is unprofessional and uncaring. A lot of issues arose because I was contacted via text filled with abbreviations as if I were on AOL IM in 2004.
Discrepancies in which insurances were accepted and no direct clarification from YLG resulted in me having to pay a large some of CASH for previous appointments that turned out not to be covered. I was told cards were not accepted. When I asked for a receipt it was as if I was asking for something ridiculous and outrageous.
This almost resulted in me being left with no medication simply because it was assumed that I couldn't pay for my appointment without coverage and it was canceled without being consulted.
Keep looking for a mental health care provider, this practice is not worth the stress. They do not care about patients on insurances through Medicaid.

Hi YLG Team,
I've contacted you on multiple occasions via email, phone, and ZocDoc requesting my medical documentation. It is truly such a shame that I've received no response from your team. If you don't have the records, you can just be transparent. But to completely ignore a former client and cancel my appointment is not only unprofessional but disrespectful. It is so unfortunate that your practice operates in this manner.

I made an appointment with my psychiatric nurse several months back when she was in a different location at a different practice. At our last appointment, she told me she was moving to a new location. I had an address but no name for the place. The day of my appointment, I receive an email 6 hours beforehand from YLG asking that I fill out paperwork, which I did. I was then informed over email that they don't accept my insurance but if I pay cash I would pay $150 instead of $300. This is way outside of my budget, so I said no and to cancel the appointment. I was then told that since I was cancelling within a 24-hour period, they were going to charge me a cancellation fee. How ironic since they didn't reach out to confirm my appointment until 6 hours before!! I said that the were not allowed to charge my credit card because I had not signed off on allowing them to charge my card. And, I did this intentionally because they charge an additional 5% for credit card transactions so I wrote that I would pay cash. They charged my card anyway. I really liked my psychiatric nurse but it's not worth seeing her if I have to deal with people like this! This is supposed to be a mental health counseling place, but they're actually causing emotional stress rather than helping to resolve it!!
RESPONSE TO YLG: I was not abusive to staff in any way. All correspondence occurred over email, of which I have a copies. I chose to cancel after being told that you would not accept my insurance, even saying thank you. No discussion of costs occurred until 3 hours before my appointment. I was forced to make a choice of paying $150 for an appointment or $100 for cancelling. I was charged on my credit card for an amount that exceeded the cost of the $100 cancellation fee. No invoice. Nothing to indicate what I was charged for.

I strongly do not recommend going to the doctor if you value your time. my acquaintance with her never took place. I arrived at the appointed time, sat waiting for an hour. the secretary smiled all this time and offered to wait for the doctor. an hour later, smiling as well, this secretary offered her help saying that she could accept me. and the doctor will not come. and generally the doctor has a different list for new clients. but nothing that I already have a referral to this doctor and is it approved ? I was wildly angry and disappointed. not one doctor had such problems yet. conclusion this doctor does not value authority and clients ...

I have seen 5 other therapists in the past 3 years. I have been working with Liza for a bit over a year and can say I am a completely different person who no longer suffers from debilitating anxiety. Liza has constantly and consistently been there and helped me accomplish goals and come back from set backs. I am so grateful to live the life I am today.

Liza has been so helpful for the past few years for me. Since seeing her I have been in a much better place with myself, helping me tackle my outside issues. I’ve become so much more stable and happy overall. The scheduling is flexible and there is so much support to help everything fit into your personal schedule.

I never received treatment from this office as they did not seem very professional. I sent an email because after what ended up almost feeling like harassment I got quite fed up with them:
"I am not sure if you'd like to know why I canceled, but I will tell you anyway and you can of course, choose to do what you want with it. I'm sure the point of Zocdoc is to provide an interface between patients and doctors that enhances/increases the availability of both parties. However, I'd also like to believe it was created to accommodate our modern technological culture and the many people who have become accustomed to communicating through devices. I would assume when someone makes an appointment through Zocdoc, they are expected to keep it and show up. Maybe you receive an influx of patients who cancel on your office and the result are the actions you take now, or maybe you just feel the need to confirm appointments. However, your earnest in confirming said appointments is off-putting to me, especially as a new patient. I thought the constant attempts to contact (and the warnings to cancel had I not contacted you) were too aggressive and thus, intimidating enough to deter me from attending your counsel. I imagined you would likely be that way in your practice and I do not want to be rushed or pushed into anything I am uncomfortable with. I hope you take this reply into some consideration. "
The reply I received from either the therapist or the staff was both underwhelming, ill-mannered and unkind...and that reply was simply: "Sure..."
I hope this gives people some kind of insight on the type of office this is!
