Ive been to several different OGBYNs and I feel like Dr Ford was the first one to look me over completely before coming up with a diagnosis and plan of care. I have always struggled to carry a pregnancy and have asked for a solution to not continue to miscarry. Instead of sending me to a fertility specialist she heard me and listened when i said No More. she gave me several options and explained each one. Even explained to me why my body is set up this way. If you need someone to finally listen I would suggest Dr Ford.

Started at this OB with an ultrasound at 10 weeks. I had a cardiac issue at birth and have a murmur that could complicate delivery, so I was promised a referral to a cardiologist when I first went in December. I never received any communication from that doctor whatsoever, even after telling Dr. Ford’s office twice that there had been no follow-up. I had to get my own cardio appointment and approached a doctor I have become acquainted with on my own. Besides that, all was going okay, just lacking in communication until we began to discus the birth process. The only stipulation I had was that I be able to move about freely and change positions, that I would not be made to lie on a bed to deliver unless it was an emergency. I was told that Dr. Ford’s monitoring of the baby would have to be done with me lying down and to find another OB who could accommodate a low-intervention birth, which I did. I then find at the new OB that my vitamin B and D labs were not ever checked, and I was deficient in both. We parted ways with Dr. Ford after the 20-week anatomy scan, and the ultrasound tech neglected to give me my pictures. The office called and stated I could pick up my pictures later, they’d be in my file. I went back to get my pictures after they had transferred my records to the new doctor and was told I could not have sonogram photos as they must stay with the file. When I insisted and clarified about the mistake, an office employee printed me one. One? I was told this was policy for a scan that “wasn’t for entertainment purposes”but was offered pictures, plural, originally and received six with my first scan. I have no “It’s a boy!” photo like most people have and I can’t get that back. That stings, and I hope they’re not just covering for the fact that they threw them out. This is not typical to my knowledge for other offices my friends have visited.
Additionally, I have family that are patients of Dr. Ford as well. One had a positive colon issue pop up on a test in December and has not had any follow up call since then (it’s now MAY) as well as other tests that have not been reviewed or communicated about in any way. The same goes for the other woman, who had a scan for fertility issues in January. Nothing, nada… after calling twice each, each woman has been told that Dr. Ford would get the message to follow up but this has not occurred.
I’m not sure where the issue with this office is, but in comparison to my new OB’s office, I would suggest they at least have a patient portal available if they cannot be bothered to call. My new OB takes time to explain expectations and procedures to me, which is very important to someone like me who has clearly documented anxiety on their chart at every doctor they’ve ever seen. I’m also not sure where the money would have come from to pay for the extra two ultrasounds she had planned for me, when Medicaid only pays for two. I wasn’t informed of this. The communication is not acceptable here most of the time, and I do hope they make the changes needed to give their patients the care they deserve. I just will not go back and be a patient again myself.
Full disclosure: Brianna Mahaffey-Nunnelley is a medical assistant employed by this office and her review should therefore be treated as such.

Definitely not proactive. If you have any health concerns, you'd be better off finding someone who really cares about their patients. Sidenote: Front of office staff is barely friendly.
Edit: I'm so glad "Brianna Mahaffey-Nunnelley" had a good experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case for me, and a few others I know. I thought it would be helpful to let others who are looking for an OBGYN like I was, to be aware that this doctor's office has problems, and you are definitely going to have to be your own advocate here.
