I recently birthed my baby boy at Adventist Health Clearlake Hospital and had 2 doctor's visits at the OBGYN office in Clearlake prior. The front office staff members are kind and helpful. I really appreciated that they "buzz" you right into a separate waiting room (away from possible sick patients) to wait for your obgyn appointment. Dr. Williams (who birthed my child) was exceptional. She truly cared about connecting with me and my husband at 37 weeks pregnant. She is kind, professional, informative, and very supportive. We loved that she explained decisions we would have o make regarding labor/delivery/baby and didn't make the choice for us. Rather, she told us the pros and cons to allow us to make the best choice for our family. She was wonderful during my birth and I would highly recommend her- I felt safe with Dr. Williams.

Additionally, I met Dr. Cheatham-Lott for 1 doctor appointment at 39 weeks, who also ended up being my discharge obgyn in the hospital. She also was caring, informative and professional as well. I can tell she has a holistic approach to obgyn care that I appreciated. When I saw the sonogram equipment in the patient room during my 38 week appointment, I asked if we might be able to see baby boy (expecting her to not be able to, but worth a shot). Dr. Cheatham-Lott smiled and was almost as excited as I was to check on how baby boy was doing!

I am sad to see that Adventist Health in Clearlake does not have positive reviews to commend the dedicated staff and doctors in the area. I'm so glad that I chose to birth my son here and am continuing his care at Adventist Health Clearlake due to great experiences with all staff members.

OB Marta Cheatham-Lott MD on October 2 was my appointment. I felt neglected when I went in and did my 8 weeks pregnancy appointment, she just give off a weird vibe. She did the vaginal ultrasound and found the fetus super quick and just focused on the fetus and never went around to check if everything is good and told me I was 10 weeks 3 days. Which doesn’t make sense cause my last menstrual cycle was August 5, wouldn’t that make you want to thoroughly check your patients? At 11 weeks going to my 12 weeks I started experiencing really bad pain under my right stomach and it’ll go to my left back. The pain would come every 5-10 minutes through out the day, it was so bad I would have to slowly catch my breath. Still at the time I didn’t think anything was wrong since it was my first pregnancy I don’t know what the pain would feel like so thought it was normal and never heard of ectopic pregnancy before. At 13 weeks and 5 days I called my OB office to see if I can speak to her to ask her about the pain I’ve been experiencing, but couldn’t speak to the OB so the Lady that answered, the phone told me she will pass my message along and if She get it answered she’ll give me a call back which she did. She told me that I could have a UTI infection and I need to go do a urinate test at the hospital and to take Tylenol for pain, I went and got the test done the day after.

On October 26 I went into the ER at 8:30pm because I was experiencing bleeding ER doctor did an ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound and come to find out I was told I had an ectopic pregnancy and would need to be airlifted to a bigger hospital to get the surgery done because of how far along I was, at this point, it was an emergency procedure and needed to be act ASAP. The ER doctor have asked me 3 to 4 times if I was sure that I have seen the fetus and the heartbeat when I went and see my OB I told her yes everytime she asked. ER doctor told me that is just doesn’t seem right And that the OB should’ve caught this they were able to pull up the time when I went and see my OB the first time to get the information and they told me I was correct that they were able to get the information from the visit. Your doctor even have a radiologist come in and did another vaginal ultrasound To explain this situation and what needed to be done, she told me if I was still early on they could’ve just given me injections but since I was so far along already I would need surgery done. I’m just upset because the OB should’ve caught this and I probably wouldn’t have to have such a big surgery done. I would never go back to this place ever.
