Considering the number of people that seek food and a nights rest I would say they do a good job, However the mandatory chapel, and being forced to leave early in the morning are not popular. Also after 10 nights you must pay $10.00 per night (which is reasonable for a bed a meal and a shower) however many homeless folks don't have $10.00. overall they are doing a great job of addressing the homeless problems in Florida.

I came to the mission needing temporary help. Just to get back on my feet….
They offer lunch and slim services for those who are not in their programs. You can get 10 nights without paying but after that they expect you to pay (when not in their program).
The food is awful literally and they are incessant regarding having anything on your person while in the building… you have to pay to do laundry. they might give you clothes that they deemed unsuitable to sell in their store. Which btw is the biggest thrift store I’ve ever seen. They are charging $25 for a coat there but when at the mission you literally cannot get one or even clothes for cold weather.
They claim to be working for God but if you ask me this place is just another devil dressed as a lamb.
They received 14 million dollars last year and I’d like to know where has it gone?
To the homeless or less fortunate ABSOLUTELY NOT.
you get the left overs that they cannot or will not sell.
the food is donated and out dates, literally expiration dates on from 2017. Meals are Primarily canned or questionable random old frozen.
They operate using those in their program . You can work for them for 45-60 days and have the same accommodations that all others have.
I am a firm believer in God but place such as this, are not helping who they claim to help. Not at all!
I honestly would like to know where all this non profit money goes. It most certainly does NOT go to those they claim.
Proof is in the pudding and theirs belongs in the out house with the devil himself.

I propose that any media investigator go under cover and see for themselves.

Waterfront mission it's okay but do they think they're Christians they don't have a picture of God on the wall cuz imagines do not exist that's not even in the Bible the only guy that's in the sky and his name is Jehovah we don't believe in imaginings of Christ on the wall because that does not exist and you cannot make us go to chapel every time if you know we're not feeling well but anyways you guys are not even helping me every time I ask what I want to speak to somebody in there

I moved to W Pcola in October. I searched for an organization that I could volunteer with for Thanksgiving because I have no fam here; friends were with their family. I enjoyed myself so much I will be back to shred those Christmas turkeys and other prep!! If you're looking for a top class volunteer assignment, call them and speak to Chris. Shopping in the men’s section has truly become an uncomfortable experience the past 6 months. I have spoke with management about an overly aggressive employee who I watched yell at a customer for looking at clothes on a rack. (This also happened to me 2 weeks ago) I was told he’s 80 years and to deal with it because they are understaffed and that he’s a volunteer so there’s nothing that can be done. As a customer of over 10+ years I’ve never felt so uncomfortable shopping at this location. And the managers seems to have no care about it .

TLDR; If you're broke, unemployed and homeless you CANNOT eat dinner here without paying $10.

As an unemployed homeless man in Pensacola, I came to Waterfront RESCUE Mission this evening (2/28/2023) to have dinner. The chaplain at the front refused to let me eat unless I paid $10 to spend the night. I didn't have $10 and I didn't need to spend the night, thankfully. I followed all the shelter rules, I was not intoxicated, and I had eaten there many nights before, but this particular chaplain refused to let me have dinner. He was actually angry with me that I thought I could eat dinner there. No other chaplain, staff member or person had ever said anything to me about needing to pay to have dinner and I had eaten there many nights before. The hilarious part is they had distributed surveys to all the people today, asking questions like "Do you feel like the staff care about your safety" and wanting to know the quality of the food, etc.. As a broke, unemployed homeless man who just wanted a meal, I'd have to say; No, I absolutely do not think the staff care, when they would angrily deny a man who had done nothing wrong, dinner. Even if I had $10 to spend on a meal, I sure as heck wouldn't spend it here. Good job to the chaplain at the front desk tonight! You are man to be respected.

The poor people who have to utilize this place get randomly yelled at for breaking rules that were never told to them. Every day around lunch time one of the chaplains picks some poor soul to yell at for bringing water in "the chapel" or for having a bag with them.. When you arrive, absolutely no one explains any of these things and you learn by being yelled at. Asking for even the most basic help is a chore. It takes hours to get answers to simple questions, they lose your paperwork and try to blame you for it, one chaplain says one thing and another will say the complete opposite... Watching the way this place operates, I honestly pity the people who need to go here regularly.

It is relatively clean. If you have $10, you can get a roof over your head and a meal. Supposedly, they have "services" available, I found it almost impossible to get anything done through them but other people might have better luck. Their main mission is to get people on "the program" and if that's not what you need, don't expect much from this place.

Honestly, the more I learn about this place, from all the thrift stores they have to charging homeless people $10 to stay the night, I believe they're trying to turn a profit. They're trying to monetize homeless people. If that doesn't say charitable Christian organization, I don't know what does. Welcome to 2023!

Everything about the place seems sleazy as heck, from the thug "chaplains", to charging $10 for a bed, charging for "bag storage", all the thrift stores.. this "homeless shelter" is a for profit business, absolutely. I really pity all the good people in the community who are being scammed into donating their time, goods and services to an organization that is trying to profit off of their generosity and the very homeless people they claim they want to serve.

Terrible hospitality.. I was treated like a prisoner when I'm a warrior of God.. I shouldn't be treated like a prisoner just to have somewhere to lay my head at night.. It's bull how this system is set up. But anyway I'll die in the woods before I go back to a place like this.. All due respect in honor to the ones who serve .. Im no longer a prisoner of my burdens .. My chains have been set free. Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ. Their is difference between a warrior and a prisoner and a soldier to slave.
