I can't say enough great things about Volusia Eye Associates - beginning with my initial contact with October, to the staff in Edgewater, and Dr. Knuckles!! I had injured my eye and they were able to get me an appointment within an hour!! Everyone was so professional and caring!! I received a very thorough examination and plan to care for my eye. I would highly recommend Volusia Eye Associates!! THANKS so much for all the caring and compassion in addressing my emergency!!!

I recently visited the beautiful newly remodeled Volusia Eye Associates in New Smyrna Beach. As usual, the entire staff was very caring and welcoming. It was time for my annual Field of Vision Test. This is not something I generally look forward to, but this time was different. Instead of looking through a monitor, Shannon explained I would be using Virtual Reality Visual Field Goggles. The experience was much more pleasant and actually enjoyable. If you are looking for excellent eye care and a wonderful staff, call Volusia Eye Care. Dr. Heck and Dr. Routh are two of the best doctors you will find.

Best office staff I have EVERcome across in my almost 60 years. Everyone goes above and beyond to get you whatever help you need. Their offices/staff members would certainly serve as the IDEAL model other practices need in order to have a more professional, caring staff....which has become nearly non-existent these days. Grade: A+++

I am new in town and Dr knuckles came highly rated. I needed a new prescription for my contacts which I have had for longer than he is old. I went there 4 times each time waiting 30-45 min to be seen. He decided I needed a field test. The young girl at the front desk called me in my phone to tell me I had an appointment. I was sitting in their waiting room. She was rude and covered her face to talk to the other front desk person to declare I was late? Fortunately the other patient wiring let her know I was there before her! I had been waiting for 20 min at the time she called me. She was so rude. Never apologized. Again it was 35 mi to finally see him for this field test report. He proposed I could have an issue sometime in the future but not sure and tried to get me in on a medication.! I don’t do drugs. Any kind! So after 4 visits and sitting in his waiting room for over 3 hours I never got a contact report. The main reason I went in.!I am a person that takes very good care of my health. So avoid unless you are into drug therapy. That keeps his patients coming back! Now to find a doctor that listens and cares. Dr knuckles has his own agenda and it didn’t match mine.

Dr Routh is an amazing surgeon. I was to the point where I could hardly see do to my cataracts. How I have 20/20 vision. God Bless you. Your office staff is out standing. If you ever need an ophthalmologist I highly recommend Dr Routh.

I went to two other practices to get new glasses (over the course of the last year) because I was squinting with my current eye glass prescription and still experiencing blurry vision and headaches.
I had an eye exam at VEA 2 weeks ago and when I told Anne my prescription didn’t feel strong enough, she thought to do a cycloplegic exam. I had to look up what that meant. Basically I’m at the age where seeing things up close is harder but still young enough that my eye muscles were accommodating . The cyclo exam helped to eliminate error caused by my own eye muscles. My eye glass prescription changed enough that I needed new glasses. I was so relieved and excited that I was finally going to see better and have less headaches.
I saw Chad in optical today to pick up my glasses and I’m thrilled with my new prescription. I haven’t seen this well in a couple of years, at least.
Thank you Volusia Eye for figuring out what other practices did not.

My husband had an eye injury in the middle of the night last night. The on call provider was amazing. She seen us the following morning (on a Sunday!). She took her time and really was excellent with his exam and care. I am thankful for her kindness and work!

The staff is knowledgeable, professional and supportive. I had a concern about the usage of a medication I was prescribed, and I was able to speak with a doctor over the weekend.
