I’ve been seeing Dr Zak on and off for five years. I’m very happy with her. She manages my psych meds and I see her once a month. It’s difficult to get any kind of psychotherapy here, just not enough therapists! So Dr Zak has taken on the role of my “therapist” for quite a while. She’s kind, caring, insightful, and always makes sure that I know she is available if I need her. And I have because the Pharmacies in Mountain Home don’t seem to believe psych meds are important and have FREQUENTLY left me without them for weeks at a time!!

She is SO nice! I've had hit or miss with psychiatrists over the years. My prior doctor no longer accepted our insurance and I dreaded finding a new doctor. Dr. Zak put me at ease right away. She was soft spoken, friendly, didn't make me feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience. She listened and genuinely seemed to care. She took her time to explain things. I am definitely glad I found her.

Dr. Zak is a lovely woman who genuinely cared about her patients. Shutting down the behavioral health unit really inconvenient for me as I now have to make two trips; one for “therapy” and one for med management. I hope she finds work locally.

Would not recommend. If you’re looking for benzodiazepines she will gladly give them, however if you are looking for actual mental help, I wouldn’t waste my time. She has no therapist because Suzanne is the rudest nurse I have ever met. Rude to staff & clients. Argues with you, then criticizes you for taking your medication as prescribed because you are going through your dads death and birthday during the holidays. Would not recommend unless you just want pills to self medicate. Been trying to get my Prozac for over a week now & she won’t refill because I have complained about suzanne twice. Calling the medical board and whoever else I need to today.

Dr Zak is the best psychiatric provider I have ever seen! She is kind, thorough, and doesn’t overmedicate like a lot of practitioners do. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Suzanne up front too— She’s never been anything but kind and has gone so far out of her way to help me with things the office doesn’t usually have to handle. She goes above and beyond, and I can’t imagine anyone having a problem with her.

Dr. Zak takes a wonderful approach where she wants to find the minimal amount of medication that is effective for your treatment rather than throwing everyone on the highest dose of 3 different meds like other doctors. There is no therapy, obviously, because she’s not a therapists. Psychiatrists don’t provide therapy. You need to find a therapist if you want therapy!

The staff was rude and Dr.Zac wanted to reschedule my appointment that I had been waiting on for months because I was 10 minutes late. I walked out without rescheduling. A Dr. who cares, especially when it comes to mental health, would be more considerate in my opinion.
Also, the front desk lady wasn't any better.
Don't waste your time here. Find someone who will care if you are looking for help.

I would give 0 stars if possible. Don't waste your time or money here. Not only was Dr. Zak the worst psychiatrist I've ever seen (15 mins late, took a 10min call in the middle of my appointment, saw me for 30mins instead of the whole hour) but they charged me more than DOUBLE of what they told me my final payment was supposed to be. I paid out of pocket so I received a discounted price. I was happy about that until I received a bill in the mail for what I thought was an additional charge but was actually the remaining amount I owed because they weren't upfront with me about the actual inital cost. To anyone without insurance and will have to pay out of pocket, they charge $365, not $160 like they told me.

i really am unpleased with this facility...we have appt. medicine was subscribed however when it came down to it the meds needed could be filled for the quantity. Its just been so confusing and all. Placed my son on meds that made him gain 30 lbs within 2 months. just have a problem with all this.
