Went to Dr Chastain as my new primary care Dr. She was very thorough with all my labs and explained them in detail. She did not rush me and was truly interested in what I was saying. After 3 previous primary care Dr.’s in the past 6 years I’m glad to say I’ll be staying with her.

My daughter and I saw her for the first time today and I’ve not been so optimistic in a very long time. She’s very thorough, extremely patient, and I sincerely feel like she cares about us getting better. The same goes for every staff member I came in contact with. We are not easy patients and they were all wonderful! Thank you ladies so much!

I wish I could give her no stars. I waited 6 months to get into her office. I just had a baby, was struggling with post partum depression and just wanted to continue the medications I was ALREADY ON before pregnancy. She argued with me for twenty minutes about how she did not agree that my current medication list was "appropriate". Medication I have been on for years due to a genetic disorder in my family. The same and ONLY working medication combination me and my father have been on (he has been on for 30 years). I went to her needing help. She told me to take an herbal supplement and try to meditate. How is she licensed to treat patients? She recommended I take a ROOT for my anxiety disorder. I'll repeat - A ROOT. At the end of our conversation I just shut up and nodded my head as she finished what she had to say because there is no point in arguing with this "doctor". I should have walked out. She even was so disgusting that after I scheduled my follow up appointment (which I did not plan on going to), SHE cancelled it, a month in advance of the appointment. She kept shaking her head at me and telling me my current medications were "too high" of a dosage. Oh, and she ALSO formula shamed me. She made sure to tell me (when I did not even ask) that breastmilk was much better than formula and I should try to get off my anxiety medication and breastfeed. Screw the mother, right? She demonized formula when it is what I need to do for my son so that I can take my medication. FYI formula is complete nutrition and babies are great on it. It is an excellent option. She also tried to scare me out of taking my medications for genetic anxiety disorder. She said to look at MedScape and read about it (like I have not already taken time to learn about the medication I take). She followed up with, "I'm suprised you're not more afraid of taking it." Are you SERIOUS?! Has this woman never treated a patient with real depression or anxiety disorder before? She treated it like it was imaginary. She is convinced it can be cured with ROOTS. That is not how depression or anxiety works! She should have become a homeopathic practitioner if she was going to recommend fake solutions to real problems. I wouldn't be surprised if she had essential oils waiting to cure the Flu in her back office. It was embarassing to meet this woman and have had this experience with her. I will continue going to my real doctor (he is a bit of a drive further, which is why I wanted to see Chastain, who is next to where I live) who actually cares about mental health and takes human beings with real problems seriously. I wonder if she would recommend a ROOT for her elderly patients with high blood pressure. I wonder how that would work out for them and her. Or is high blood pressure more worth treating with actual medication because it is a "real" problem that actually exists instead of imaginary depression and anxiety? I'm disgusted.

I’ve been going to Dr. Chastain since she started in this area. She’s the first Dr who actually looked for answers and I was able to get the right diagnosis and treatment that for years no one could figure out. She is kind, courteous, and really listens.

Dr Chastain rushes you through your appt and then doesn't even call to go over your lab work. I've been misdiagnosed two times by this Doctor and will now begin the tedious task of finding a new PCP.
