Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to the incredible team who took care of my child during a recent minor surgery. From the skilled and compassionate nurses, to the cheerful security guard who could moonlight as a stand-up comic, and the lovely duo checking IDs with the efficiency of the Secret Service (but way friendlier)—everyone was outstanding!

Not only were they kind and informative, they managed to make a stressful day feel surprisingly smooth—and even a little fun. It’s rare these days to encounter a team so consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely caring from start to finish.

Thanks for turning what could’ve been a nerve-wracking experience into something full of kindness, reassurance, and good vibes. You’re all superheroes in scrubs and security uniform.

This is by far the best hospital to give birth at. Everyone here is amazing, so helpful, always smiling, and most of all very welcoming. I am very thankful for all Doctors, nurses, surgeons, and pediatricians. I highly recommended having your baby here. I will never forget my experience here with my last baby. God Bless you all.

Labor and delivery non admittance side is an absolute nightmare. I did give birth here and the actual delivery team was awesome but the emergency side is awful. I was sent in by my doctor for some testing to rule out complications. I spent 4 hours in a room where I was in a lot of pain I repeatedly asked for water and heating pad and got nothing. I’m now dehydrated and feeling sick. The nurses sat outside the door gossiping rather than do anything else. I feel like water is kind of a necessity for pregnant women since they tried to tell me I don’t feel good due to dehydration even though I stay well hydrated. The student doctor was very sweet but the head doctor was cold and rude. He came in said maybe a sentence and when I asked a question he walked out to let the student doctor answer. I’ve had to come here before and this treatment makes me not want to say when things don’t feel right because at least at home I have access to a need like water. Wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you have too.

The nurses and staff were absolutely amazing and caring. They made the entire stay bearable. We spent 15 days in the hospital with my baby that has had breathing problems since birth. After all that time we spent we have gotten the most incredibly inaccurate diagnosis and feel like we have wasted so much time we could have spent somewhere else. If we had spent 3 or 4 days or maybe even a week it would be a little less irritating, but having 2 other children at home and living an hour away and being stuck in a hospital room with no answers is just crazy to me. He still has issues and we still have no answers.

My daughter broke her leg. Took her to women’s n children’s. NURSES AWFUL! DOCTORS WERE WORST! Couldn’t eat for 2 days because of how worried I was. Finally decided to go get something from the cafeteria. Asked the lazy nurses sitting at their nurses station chit chatting to keep an eye on my baby while I go get food. Came back. MY DAUGHTER was stuck in the railing and guess what every last nurse was sitting at that station. Careless nurses aided by careless doctors. When it was time to be discharged. They didn’t do NOTHING by the book. No help with car seat. No showing us how to care for her broken leg nothing. Just a your being discharged and handed us a paper. Bring your kid here if you want them to have the worst care.

I have nothing nice to say about the children’s hospital. Let me say we LOVED the trauma team and pediatric orthopedic team at the university of south Alabama!! Dr Kutchens is FANTASTIC. highly recommended him! But let’s get into the bad. We are not from mobile, we were emergency transported from Pensacola because they had an on call orthopedic and vascular surgeon for my special needs 4 year old. Surgery went great and then we were transported to this hospital at 4am and that’s when things went down hill. No communication between us and the doctors (which by the way we never saw the same doctor twice) and they definitely didn’t communicate with each other. A messed up enema that has the nurses in a panic and we got no apology or explanation. Had to ask mutilple times for meds for my little guy and they kept forgetting. They blew his IV and couldn’t find another usable one and kept pricking him. Eventually we told them to stop and we were done. For being in a place where we didn’t know anyone and hour and a half away from home, a child who can’t communicate to us about what hurts. They did not have sympathy. We finally ask to be discharged since the orthopedic team (again this team was amazing) cleared us. I will NEVER bring my child here again. We will follow up with orthopedics out patient but nothing but bad things to say about an overnight stay here.

Had a great experience with all the nurses and doctors during my delivery. I had my first baby in this hospital 2 months ago they were very attentive to me. As soon as the baby was born I had to have immediate surgery where I had to have a blood transfusion unfortunately. I was in the hospital for 3 days as my new born baby was in the Nicu for one week unfortunately. But everything after that was rainbows & butterflies. Wonderful hospital! We loved it.

Does this Hospital have a Lost & Found?
I misplaced my red New Testament Bible in November when I came in for delivery at the hospital

I’m giving 3 stars for the support staff, not the medical teams. My wife had a wonderful experience with Dr. Perez, and Jesse, the labor and delivery nurse. All other nurses during and afterwards on the 5th floor were great, attentive and caring.

3 days later, we had to come back for our baby’s weight check and some labs. Coming into security, the guard at the metal detector was talking on the phone via his wireless headset, which causes confusion and we were unsure if he was even talking to us.

Next, we make our way to the lab, and the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Donna, was asleep on her desk. We then had to wake her up in order for her to attend to us. She was then the one who had to prick my 4 day old’s heel. Needless to say I was unsure of her abilities to perform her job to the best of her ability.
