Edited from 5 stars to 1:

Once Eric Powell left Care Connect, we never heard from anybody in this organization ever again. My brother immediately went back to "neglected cattle" status. It is what it is but I'm not letting them keep my 5 star review if they're not worthy of it.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Just a heads up...I don't think I could ever write a more glowing review for a health care organization than I want to write for Eric Powell & Care Connect. It's going to glow so frickin bright that, reading this, you're going to think I must work there or get paid for reviews. Nope.

If you've found yourself in a financial bind, it's hard to ask for help. When you do, more often than not, you get herded along like neglected cattle with so much paperwork and automated phone systems that it's easy to give up. Nobody likes to beg. It's better to try and stay positive and get by as best as you can.

Until sometime really serious happens.

My brother is talking to me one morning, saying he can't see and as I look at him, I notice that one of his eyes had gone wonky. We immediately thought stroke and called 911. Turns out that it was his 7th minor stroke and he'd had bleeding in his brain. Flagler Drs. did a wonderful job and he made it out but we still were at a loss on how to pay for the medicine and avoid another stroke.

I'm not sure how Eric Powell (Care Connect) found my brother in the system but he reached out and all I can really say is that we sure don't feel like neglected cattle anymore.

Ever see that movie "As Good as it Gets"? Well this was like getting all the great medical attention without having to deal with Jack Nicolson....lol We were STUNNED at how much Eric cared and did for us. It was above and beyond anything we ever expected and we joked about building him a little shrine of appreciation. He's STILL helping us. He calls just to check and see how we're doing and if we need any help. WHAT

Yesterday, we finally met him face to face and he's just young, bright, full of energy and radiating goodness. That's very rare and we feel very lucky to have met him.

i don't know what you're going through or why you stopped to read this review but, if you need help, START HERE with Care Connect. If they can't help you, they've got a network of people who figure out who can. They do care. They will call you back. Don't give up.

We're doing much better - my best to you (review reader) and to Eric Powell & Care Connect...THANK YOU!!! You changed our lives.

UPDATE 4/12/22: I received a call from a supervisor (Paige) today. She was apologetic, empathetic, and very professional. She seemed to sincerely want to find out what ifactors caused the negative experience I described below. Paige listened as I explained why I contacted CareConnect and what I need their help with. This experience was a stark contrast from the perspective I expressed yesterday. I am increasing the rating to 3 stars (it would be 5 stars if I hadn't waited since January).

4/11/22 Who is in charge at this place? I've tried to be incredibly patient with this "service", and at this point I cannot give them anything that resembles a positive review. Initially when I called for help, I was advised that it would be 7-10 days before I receive a callback. No problem. Over a month later. I receive a call, simply advising me that the call was to schedule an intake interview. No problem. So a couple more weeks after this I'm scheduled for my interview. The interviewer (Michelle) doesn't call. I call CareConnect to find out what happened. I'm assured that a message will be relayed to Michelle. Over a week passes and no call. I call CareConnect again, and again I'm assured that Michelle will get a message. I'm told that several clients have experienced issues with Michelle not calling them. Another week passes and no call. I call CareConnect and ask to speak to a supervisor or office manager. I'm told that a message will go out to both Michelle as well as a supervisor. At the time of this review, nearly another week has passed. Michelle is an embarrassment to her profession, but apparently the management must not be any better because nobody seems to be overseeing this horrible service. I'm left to wonder what type of training is provided at CareConnect. Certainly Trauma-Informed Care must not be part of the curriculum, or they might understand that the population they serve are often forced to endure this same type of ridiculous waiting game at many services that claim to be designed to "help". Nobody wants to chase a service provider and practically beg for help within a reasonable time frame. Do no harm, CareConnect. Do. No. Harm.

I have been dealing with them since Oct 2020 no one called me back. I then had to reapply again in November because my application wasn’t there in the system anymore, when I did that no one called again. I apply again in January still no one called even me leaving notes. Thanks to this one lady Zari I finally got thru and it was March and I had to do another application someone contacted me in April but now I’m waiting on another call for a second phone interview that I will have a case manager to Get Help. No one wants to help because everybody is waiting On Care Connect to refer you their agency.calling Calling even with your application on file don’t make them move fast at ALL. Still waiting on a call

My wife has breast cancer and this time has been rough both financially and emotionally. Eric was our Care Connect and set us up in a couple of programs to help us out. He galloped through to make sure we received the help. Thanks Eric

They don't care. Deceitful organization. It's like they promote homelessness. Keeping you on the streets. No help for me at all.
