Since my son was 2 going on 3 I heard so much great things about this place but still went through different venues for care because I was not convinced that my son was autistic at that time. When my son was 8 I finally decided to try CARD and after a year of gathering everything they asked me for I was told I was going to be placed on the waiting list. FIVE YEARS LATER I finally got a call and had a psychiatric evaluation for my son.

I cannot aptly describe my shock at how terribly things went and my extreme disappointment at the deliberate strategy of the psychiatrist to use his training to gaslight me, belittle me, disrespect me, berate me, and create a distressing and frustrating environment during the entire evaluation. This same strategy was applied to my son to undermine his accomplishments and underrate his achievements to disprove his aptitude and further gaslight me regarding his achievements. Everything my son did correctly he said it was incorrect. He asked my son to show him something and my son pointed to it, then he said my son is incorrect and actually asked me later when did my son regress and stop pointing.

My son's teacher said he is the best student in her class and this man was acting like he was totally academically incapable. Furthermore his attack on my education, parenting, intelligence and worth as a person lets me know that this organization is not ready to work with parents of Autistic children.

Parents, please do not let these professionals discourage you. You are highly skilled, socially capable, brilliant, loving, strong, knowledgeable, respectable, courageous, resilient and magnificent. Keep pushing forward for your child and don't ever doubt your certainty of their skills and aptitude. It is not an easy road and you deserve a team that will honor your hard work by working with you and your child instead of against.

I am not sure if I should still give this place a chance. The reviews here are all one star so far and are all accurate. The lady who did the intake was nice, but the antisocial behaviors of the psychiatrist overshadows that by far.

After being on the waiting list for 18 months and finally being seen. I was told that my non-verbal child could not be diagnosed with ASD because he was able to interact with the Doctor through play. I know many autistic people personally and publicly that are more that able to interact in their own ways! Many have jobs, get married, have children etc. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We went for a second opinion with another Doctor and we’re diagnosed with ASD the same day.

I took my son to all the appointments did everything they ask it’s been 5 months later and they still have yet to give me a diagnosis. I called them 2 times and the first time they said the doctor will call me for an appointment another month goes by I call again and they tell me that someone on the team will call me to go over the results not the doctor and I ask why is the doctor not going to do it and they say that the doctor already gave me the results that’s a lie haven’t heard from him since I met him. I really don’t even know if the results even mean anything to me since this is how they do business the whole place is lost and confused somebody needs to come in and show this place how to do there job or they need to be shut down permanently.
