For some reason this UCSF clinic is only seeing patients that live in San Francisco or San Mateo County. Wasted my time calling them multiple times today to finally get through to someone and be turned away. They could easily put that information on their website right along with the clinic phone numbers.

Never had a pediatrician with this hospital and my son needs his shots. They hang up on you for a scheduled calls and never call back. You have to call them again to schedule an appointment so my opinion the only way to get to them is to go in person. So mamas take a day off from work to schedule as simple thing as child’s shots. I’d stay with old hospital but I can’t use bus 9 because too many crazies and they scare my son

The level of care has really gone down the toilet. The team seems to be very money driven. They will order every test possible and charge 8-10X the standard rate. If you do not want yet another lab test, they will hold your prescriptions hostage. If you'd like to know the results of said lab tests, good luck. You will need to call and leave a message for your provider with whom you never actually speak. The overzealous nurse practitioners who monitor and handle all communications really seem to enjoy exercising what authority they think they have. They will dictate to you the care that in their great wisdom you need as though you are not a participant in the decision making process. Shockingly awful.

Would rate 0-stars if I could. Experienced an egregious HIPAA violation at the front desk of this practice. I also had set appointment times where I had to wait over 90 minutes to be seen by my clinician. On occasion, the patient scheduled after me would also arrive while I was still in the waiting room. I asked to be removed from all communications and the practice itself, yet still received communications up until last month. UCSF is excellent for many things, but the primary care experience at this location is abysmal.

I saw Dr Richie for a yearly physical. She didn’t order routine blood work, saying that with no pre-existing condition (e.g., high cholesterol) I didn’t need any. Specifically she said that if doctors ordered routine blood work for everyone, then the cost of health insurance premiums would go up. She said I could shop around for a doctor who would be “unethical”.

I later called my health insurance and they had never encountered this response. Routine blood work was 100% covered as part of my annual physical.

She was cursory with the exam. There was no breast exam or inspection for suspicious moles. She spent most of the time on the computer, with her questions being the ones I had just filled out on an intake form.

Dr. Nagar and Amber the MA were amazing. So respectful and thorough. I was seen quickly without a long wait. So happy to finally have a PCP!
