I have been going to this hospital steadily for about 4 years now and I can count one on one had the bad experiences I’ve had…which is two to three. They have a wonderful, caring staff and always do their best to make me feel better and more comfortable. It has a beautiful view of the city and the bay that you can enjoy as well. I’m normally admitted when I come here and I live 45 minutes to an hour away. There is no other hospital that I go to. Thanks for always doing your best to accommodate me 😌

This hospital was pivotal in saving my ability to walk and was amazing with the care and understanding I was allowed. Being a visitor on vacation that became paralyzed from the shoulders down on my vacation was very intimidating.
The nurses and doctors were very helpful in teaching me how to walk again and educating me about my condition.
I truly believe my paralysis would have been permanent if it had happened at home in Kansas.

Had an unexpected visit to the UCSF ER on Halloween night. You can imagine how busy it was. But everyone was organized cool calm collected and focused. It is easy to see why this is one of the best medical schools and hospitals in the country. Thank you to everyone who took great care of me especially on floor six including Garry. Victoria. Roselle. Virginia. Emily. Their caring service dedication and commitment is really truly unmatched. I felt safe and secure in best of hands. This is where I would always send any family member.

My mother was admitted for over a week and her bathroom was hardly cleaned. Light bulbs blew out and requested the nurse to speak to facilities - it never happened. My mom was at fall risk and although her room was right across the nurse’s desk it took over 10 mins for someone to assist her to the bathroom she almost pissed herself!

Once she was discharged I reviewed her AVS and we were unable to locate her oncologist information. Called the general hospital phone number and was greeted by a rude lady on the phone. How could we possibly remember all the doctor’s name?! After leaving a voicemail I did not receive a call back until 4 days later which my mom was already admitted back into Stanford Hospital.

Radiation wait time was over an hour of our scheduled appointment.

The best doctors, most caring staff. Kindest nurses, physicians, hospital staff folks. I had an ER visit. Details of my visit are private. They cared. These Physicians, nurses and medical staff have taken their commitments and ethical obligations seriously. God bless them!

Excellent staff, from the ER intake (Loren), to ER Dr Euter and the resident doctor with her, in Jade Rm, and nurses Hannah?, Connie, and triage (guy in fire department shirt) & the X-ray technician all exhibited wonderful bedside manner. Thank you, UCSF for hiring such a great staff!!!

My only complaints were the temperature in there as we all were overheating in the ER waiting room and the Jade room. Also, there was not enough room for wheelchairs or beds and it hurt tremendously to sit for all of those hours as I was dealing with an injury on my left hip and any pressure to that area was brutal.

This is a combined rate:
5+stars for nurses (they amazing!!!!!)
and 3 stars to doctors. And again some doctors deserved 5 stars (attending doctors change every 3-4 days, then they will pass you to the next doctor). By the time the last doctor during my son’s admission took over, he completely misrepresented the diagnosis all previous specialists had given my son based on test results and history of the illness, as well as the main reason my son was admitted to the hospital. He also refused to provide a consultation with specialists my son’s PCP requested.

Beautiful view from a private room on 13th floor

God bless the wonderful, caring people that work here. Cannot think of the glowing words to praise the incredible medical staff at Long Hospital. The hospital itself and long term/palliative care center are unrivaled. Medicine practiced the way it was intended- “Do No Harm” ❤️❤️❤️
