I've not been there recently, but have in the past for myself and my wife, and always for a major reason. Although it was always busy we were seen quickly and competently. They were caring and thorough on every occasion.

NP Chris Roden & Nurse Natalie Karr both have been extraordinary in their line of work/duty! My husband is a HARD stick, no exaggeration, Nurse Karr got it on the 2nd try!! Great personalities, and easy going hard workers. Very quick and efficient. Their hospitality game is on point. Compared to our horrific experience at St. Vincent’s this facility is a prime example of what/how a hospital should function. Great hospitality management and so much more! Thank you so much for your care! You guys are GREAT!

One of the worst ER experiences in my life. No one was nice, and getting assistance was next to impossible. The doctor seemed like he was drifting in and out of real time and did not explain anything to me. I was there and needed CAT Scan. The staff was a surly, "I can't be bothered" bunch. I was assigned a nurse who I never saw. Because they did not have a rolling apparatus for all of the tubes in me, I could not get out of my room to use the restroom. I called and waited for over 10 minutes for someone to come and get the tubes in me free. And the attitude I got from whoever unleashed me acted as though I were asking for her to move the Earth. No one showed one ounce of sympathy towards me. The CAT Scan came back and showed nothing. Then, they started working on discharging me, which took forever. These people are in the wrong profession. I hope I don't end up there ever again.

We had a great experience! My partner got concussed at work and we had to head to the ER. We chose highlands because it was the closest, but we were in and out super quickly and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Only downside was we had to sit in recliners out in the open instead of a private room, but it wasn’t really that bad because the injury was mild. Thank you UAB staff!

The worst place ever!!! It's THE MOST DIRTY hospital I have ever seen in my life. You have about 10 workers and only 3 are actually working!!! There is NO ORGANIZATION OR PROFESSIONALISM!!!! They will have you in the waiting area for 4 hours, then place you in THE HALL as your EXAM ROOM!!!! You will sit there an additional 2hours before someone even comes to speak to you!!!! This place just needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!! They are understaffed and just UNACCEPTABLE to be a HOSPITAL!!!!

My father has been in the ER for 12hrs.. He was supposedly "admitted" 4hrs after his arrival and no one has told us ANYTHING.. We didn't even know he was being admitted until he had been here 12hrs "supposedly" waiting on a bed!!!? I was informed that it could be atleast another 6hrs before he would be moved to a room!! This is ridiculous and he has been here and admitted 3times for the exact same issues and nothing has changed?

The incompetence on display at this location is staggering. I wouldn’t trust them to adequately address a hangnail. They misspelled the patient name and got the birthdate wrong despite holding a government ID in their hands. They prescribed a specific medication for a severe cough, confirmed it’s the only medication that could possibly help, then immediately wrote a prescription for the wrong medication. It took an extra 40 minutes to get that corrected, by which time all pharmacies were closed. The next morning we went to fill the critical prescription, and it had been written in a dose THE MANUFACTURER DOESN’T MANUFACTURE. They refused to write a new dose, directing us to go to another physician (and pay another copay). They were unfocused, uncaring and unprofessional. I will not trust them with our care in any situation ever again.
