I don’t like to rate companies poorly, but the staff encouraged me to write a review so the managers and high ups can see feedback and improve. I tried to give this company the opportunity to improve and help me. I had severe health issues for the approximate five years I was with them, and I was one of the most complex cases they had seen. In the end, I caused myself more suffering by remaining with this company versus switching to the new primary care I’m with, HealthTopia. It’s been a night and day difference. I’ll try to keep this concise, but since I left TrueCare and went to HealthTopia, I feel for the first time in years that people genuinely care and are taking the time to navigate this. TrueCare sent me to some really awful doctors, plus everything at UCSD (and other “higher quality” referrals) was uber compartmentalized; it took me 5 months to get an electric wheelchair after a severe injury; they don’t have doctors in their network who practice root cause medicine; it takes a few weeks to get an appointment; and the referrals they offer are subpar doctors who force things on you with no empathy/compassion. Maybe that’s all they have to offer in the current system. It’s symptom management at best, and Pharma based, where you’re just causing more problems in the long run. I understand Western medicine works with individual body parts, and is run by profit (drugs and cutting people mostly) and not integrative or root cause medicine, but that’s not the reality of the human experience. Not once in five years could I get traumatic brain injury treatment, TMJ treatment that wasn’t drug based (ie Botox), no trauma healing for people with severe childhood and adult traumas, no G.I. Doctors who understood MCAS, among a multitude of other things I needed for which I could not get the treatment. I spun my wheels and went through the bureaucracy for years, and I got fed up. I wish I would’ve left sooner. At least at other places they look at the body as a whole, they have an ND on staff and can actually read integrative/functional medicine labs, they hear you, see you, validate your experience; instead of treating you like a number, like you’re putting them out, and more calloused like I felt at TrueCare. Also, I’m now in touch with a far superior case manager, who is more conscientious, empathetic, thorough, and we’re making more progress in two months than I did in five years withTrueCare. The only reason I didn’t rate it at one star, is because there are some nice people who work there, who are genuinely trying, didn’t treat me like a number/calloused/like I was burdening them, and didn’t gaslight me like most who work there. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m praying for a better American healthcare system, one that’s aligned with our bodies own innate intelligence and ability to heal itself.🙏🏻🇺🇸🌈

Filthy exam rooms, you will be rushed in and out. Difficult to get referrals for basic women's health. Good luck trying to see an actual MD. The staff is nice.

I normally don't leave ratings, but the pediatrics area of True Care is magnificent. My son was attended very quickly without the pile of in-take documents common at most facilities. Dr. Murphy and her assistant were marvelous and did a great job making my son feel comfortable. Both are excellent when it comes to kids, better than some teachers my children have had. Easily the best doctor visit I've had for any of my three kids over the years.

My daughter went here for urgent strep throat. Was told they don’t have Any drs there. And no nurse. What kind of medical clinic has no medical staff? This has to be a violation

I had a 20 minute appointment scheduled to go over some labs I had done. A nurse took me to a room, asked some questions, then I was told the Doctor would be in shortly. After sitting in the room for over 45 minutes I left the room and asked at the desk if maybe they had forgotten about me. they said no, the Doctor was running late and should be able to see me in another 30. I get that things happen and the Doctor can get caught up in something more urgent, but maybe respect the patents time too by letting them know if they'll be waiting for over an hour to see the Doctor.

Update: I emailed the address TruCare posted in their response to open a channel of communication AS THEY REQUESTED. Big surprise, they never contacted me back. A good example of their dedication to their pantients.

Trying to keep my newly diagnosed 24 year old diabetic son on track and alive, I. have found this to be the most pathetic, unresponsive clinic possible! The doctor there gave my son life-threatening advice regarding his blood sugar monitoring! We are changing immediately after trying for more than a week to simply get a copy of the prescription for his continuous glucose monitor so he can stay alive. Maybe they are adequate for colds and runny noses, but their treatments should stop there. If I could give them zero stars, I would do so!

Very caring Staff and an Outstanding Nurse Practitioner, Dawn Shah, FNP. I am really surprised at the other negative reviews. I have been seeing going to NCHS in Encinitas since I became disabled and had to switch insurances in 2016. I have been absolutely delighted with how caring the staff is and my Nurse Practitioner, Dawn Shah who is acting as my Primary Care Physician is EXCELLENT.

Frankly, Dawn has been more thorough than any MD that I have experienced and has the sweetest deposition with a wonderfully caring "bedside manner". I have never felt rushed through any of my many appointments; Dawn answers all of my questions (that's a lot as I have many medical challenges happening), completes any needed paperwork for me while I am there, and explains my medical course of action. The Medical Assistants go over everything again with me, insuring I have all the paperwork I need (lab requisitions forms, etc) and that I fully understand what I need to do next.

The back office Assistants (Oscar, Christian, Monica ... I know I am leaving people out) and Front Office have been so welcoming and kind to me from day one. I am always been treated like a person not a number. I actually look forward to seeing them, and I don't like being sick nor do I like going to see doctors.

The other aspect I like is that they have easy to navigate, patient portal. I can access my many lab results and even consultative notes online and email Dawn directly with any questions. This has been so helpful in so many ways.

Dawn Shah, FNP and her staff have my highest recommendation. They are a very special group of caring, committed, and top-notch medical professionals.
