Four days ago, I was admitted to the hospital through the emergency room.

After two surgeries and three dialysis treatments, I am being discharged from the hospital.

The medical staff here are superior. The doctors, nurses, and technicians take wonderful care of the patients.

The emergency room floor as you would expect was always very busy. But they were never too busy to help regardless if they were assigned to you or not. All I had to do was ask and somebody helped me.

One time I stopped a person walking by and asked if they could get me some food. She turned around and came back in a couple minutes with a really nice snack lunch. I found out later, she was a doctor that was just helping a patient. Probably not her job to get food for a patient, but she didnโ€™t blink an eye and soon returned with the food that I requested. Thanks Doc!

I ended up on the second floor for most of my stay after the first surgery. Once again, the staff, including all the nurses and the technicians were wonderful.

Morgan was my favorite nurse during the night shift. She truly cares for her patients and often would sit and talk and listen to whatever I had to talk about. Sheโ€™s a real champ of a nurse.

I spent three sessions getting dialysis. The technicians and doctors that work in that clinic are wonderful. By far this was the most enjoyable hemodialysis Iโ€™ve ever experienced. They were fun to talk with, to joke, and very professional along with full of knowledge. I wish I could come back three times a week and have my treatments done at that clinic.

Thank you again for making a miserable infection that didnโ€™t take my life. You are all heroes.

I was seen for my CT scan appointment promptly. Every team member I encountered was friendly, courteous, professional, and efficient. I can't suggest any improvement in my experience. It exceeded my expectations

Update: The hospital posts a reply but before I can see it, they delete their response. I am attaching pictures and adding the text messages between the daughter and husband, Telling the family that the patient does not want to talk to them?
The Surgery Department has the worst communication I have ever experienced regarding communication to patients and the patient's family. The patient came out of surgery and went into Recovery at 950AM. The doctor informed me that the patient would be in recovery for 1.5 to 2 hours. I sat in the waiting room for the next three hours and could get no information from the staff as to the patient's wellbeing. After trying to get information for more than 7 hours, I had to engage the patient's daughter, an RN, to get any information about the patient. I will note that I had a medical power of attorney and the hospital was made aware of this fact during pre-admission and at admissions. After spending more than 8 hours in recovery, we learned the hospital may have been keeping the patient sedated while in recovery, not because it was medically necessary but because they had no room available to move her to. When the patient finally got to a room, the hospital did not attempt to inform anyone that the patient had been moved to a room, more than an hour passed before the patient texted to say that they were in a room and asked where we were at. After finally getting her room number, we learn from the patient that they have not had any food for the last 19 hours. The patient has a significant medical history, which makes the patient a high risk, and the lack of communication was stressful for the patient and the patient's family. Based on the experience we had in the surgical department, I would not recommend this hospital to anyone needing surgery. After looking at other reviews, I have learned that the same issue this patient had in the surgery department is an ongoing issue with the hospital for more than 7 years.

My mother was admitted to the hospital for a flare-up of her congestive heart failure. Although she was in the ED for just about 36 hours due to no beds available, when she got upstairs into a room, it was lovely. The room was spacious and a great ambiance for being in the hospital. The staff was great, and I never had an issue with the RN or CNA. They were happy to help my mom when needed and checked in. My mom got transferred to Mobile Infirmary. I miss Thomas Hospital! Lol.

I want give a shout out to Michael and Taylor. Two of best nurses you could ask for. Very kind and helpful. Never left the room without asking if there was anything else they could. The hospital was clean and had really nice surroundings. The bad comment was the bed was not comfortable.

My mom and I are so grateful to the teams in the ER and ICU for the care that they provided during my stepfather's last hours. We especially want to commend Wendy and Taylor in the ICU for their professionalism and compassion. Thomas can be very proud of them.

I was admitted for cardiac surgery on February 12, 2025 and my primary RN was named Clare and unfortunately I didn't find out her last name. She took care of me from 06:42AM until my release after 04:00PM. Clare and the entire staff including DR Kendall Douglass and DR Tung Vu along with each and every nurse and technician were absolutely professional, caring and understanding to the maximum. They were also so very nice to my loving wife. I thank each and every one of them.
