Words cannot honestly express the thankfulness to Dr. Shane at Specific C. Many years ago my chronic sciatica that had developed from my previous pregnancies came back and my ability to run marathons ceased. As well as a genetic spinal problem in my neck gave me constant discomfort. My sciatica became worse and I was even having a hard time just taking normal walks each day, I became depressed as my condition worsened for over a year, my physical health was deteriorating. One evening I came across a free consultation at The Specific. I had gone through many different Chiropractors through the years and none of them ever helped, but I was desperate to try anything. I met with Dr. Shane and after our consultation and exams, I immediately felt like he understood exactly what was happening and could help me. I signed up for a treatment plan and within the first couple of visits I had marked positive changes. By the time I was finished with the program I was a different person and have been able to live a normal happy life since I have been physically healed. That doesn't mean that sometimes my sciatica and neck pain don't come back once in a while, maybe once or twice a year, but I go in for a quick treatment and my adjustment holds for months at a time. It is also encouraged that as patience we do our part and exercise, eat healthy and drink plenty of water, which is how I lived my life previously before The Specific and that is what helped my body to tap in more quickly to the treatments. Everyone in the office is super friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home. Genuine people. I highly recommend going to The Specific C.

I've been a patient since 2020. Before coming to see Dr Shane, I struggled with lower back pain and sciatica for 15 years. I had been seeing a traditional chiropractor before him, and the adjustments on my back felt great, but the relief only lasted a few days. I went 30 times and never got lasting results. One adjustment from Dr. Shane got rid of the sciatica! I kept waiting for the pain to come back, but it never did.

Additionally, with everything in alignment, I started noticing all sorts of improvements in my life. Better ability to handle stress, calmer attitude, better digestion, no headaches, better sleep even! I started feeling like things were working like they were supposed to.

I hold my adjustments very well, but I can always tell when my "neck is out" because I start getting stressed over the small things, my digestion is awful, and I have problems sleeping. That's when I call Dr. Shane and he makes everything better.

I can’t say enough good about The Specific, Chico. I started with Dr. Shane four years ago when I was at my rock bottom with my health. I had never felt heard and any other Doctor before visiting him. His guidance helped me get to the other side of some huge issues I was having. I was so incredibly thankful to have him on my care team because he helped understand my health issues and plan a path out of them.
He and Doctor Jay are incredibly knowledgeable and are willing to share their knowledge with anyone who is willing to listen. I have referred countless people to them over the years as well as my husband and two kids. If you are looking to work towards truly improving your health, these are your guys!
They have added a new face to the office, Jeremy who I have not been adjusted by but if he’s under the tutelage of Dr. Jay and Shane, I know he’s good.

Dr. Shane has made a huge impact on my health. I battled terrible migraines (17 per month) and suffer from chronic pain. I had assumed that traveling and living a "normal" lifestyle would not be possible due to my health. But after about 3 months, my headaches were reduced to just a few per month and my overall health was drastically improved! I recommend him to all of my friends.

Dr. Jason Gonzales helped me gain my life back. In May of 2021, I woke with an episode of vertigo. While the true vertigo feeling went away after a day, I was left with strange sensations such as feeling like I was still in motion after completing a head turn and a floating feeling whenever I was in a busy environment or a store, especially big box stores, or many times while looking down for too long (doing dishes, reading, etc). I saw countless professionals over the course of two years trying to get to the bottom of what was causing my issues: my primary care doctor, two ENTs, a Physical Therapist for dizziness rehab, other chiropractors, and an allergy specialist. I even had a CT scan and an MRI conducted - I was given answers of vestibular neuritis or PPPD. I had a gut feeling this possibly wasn’t from my ear, but rather my neck, as my symptoms really flared in certain positions, like looking down. After two years of symptoms, I visited the Specific. Upon meeting Dr. Jason, I felt I was in good hands. He was always professional and he had confidence he could help me. An X-ray revealed I had a “stuck” upper cervical vertebrate. Over the course of a few months, Dr. Jason delivered very precise adjustments to this area. I started to go longer between symptoms (and visits) and could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. He also suggested a supplement that I believe played a role in my recovery. I am going on five months now of very few of the original sensations I had, and what I do experience is only 10% of the original severity. I can comfortably work, shop, take care of my home, and enjoy my hobbies again thanks to the help of Dr. Jason. My treatment took longer than he initially predicted and he stood by his word and did not charge any more than the original estimate. So thankful for the help and know I am still welcome as a patient if things change and I need more care. Thank you for giving me my life back!
