I want to start with stating that I have over 15 years of experience working with insurance and outpatient offices. I know my policy , and I my benefits . I made an appointment after confirming with my plan, that the facility is in network. A day before my appointment I get a call stating that my insurance is Medicaid, and that they don’t take Medicaid . I inform them that my insurance is a commercial plan not affiliated with Medicaid or government coverage. They proceed to tell me that they will call my insurance to confirm. I never received a call back from them. I showed up to my appt to find out that it’s been canceled, and the reason was again my insurance and a simple shoulder shrug. I left because of the lack of professionalism of the front desk staff . If they would have actually called my plan they would have been able to correct their simple mistake.

The Doctors Center staff is good, the facilities are terrible. It's getting short shrift since it's in an Urban Area; the area where your weight and blood pressure checked pre exam is a storage area, the waiting area looks like a warehouse with chairs, the walls need painting, and the furniture in the exam rooms has the faux leather worn off so much the stuffing is coming out. Regardless if this is in an urban area or not, better care and attention should be given to this office; the patients, staff, and community deserve better.
