I've been a patient here for several years now. Back in September, I suffered an immobilizing back injury which has left me unable to function. Three weeks ago, after an in-person evaluation and referral, I requested a formal letter to be sent to the University of Arizona elaborating that my injury - which has rendered me unable to sit or lie, which includes all subsequent functions such as sleeping or using the restroom - is requiring me to take a medical leave for the semester. Daily I called, and for three weeks I was given the run around, leaving me entirely in the dark. Eventually I am told that the letter will only be drafted upon an ADDITIONAL visit with the neurosurgeon. Mind you, I have seen the surgeon's PA once already for an evaluation and am just waiting for his next available appointment for surgery - three weeks away. There is additional documentation in the forms of MRI imaging and visit summaries. In essence, you will not be advocated and cared for as a patient at this clinic. They have once again failed me in the most simple of requests, further adversely affecting my life.

Dr. Perkis is a nice enough man however his Nurse Practitioner, Junia Osier, earns this place one star. She was helpful with an initial diagnosis and even ordered an MRI that shows a severe injury. However, for some unknown reason, Junia refuses to help provide the proper documents that are needed for medical leave. She and her MA, Precious, have wasted 3 weeks of time drafting several letters that never got sent, dodging phone calls during the daytime and now outright refusing to provide the documentation that supposedly was being worked on and/ or already sent. This place is a complete joke and and their care borders on negligence. We could have scheduled and seen a competent physician who was willing to help with all of the time that they wasted.

Update: Upon becoming aware of this situation, Dr. Perkis did very promptly provide the needed medical paperwork. He is a compassionate physician that I can recommend, however I would strongly advise against seeing his NP.

Dr. Ahmed is incredible! I saw her as a new primary care patient early January 2022, and was so impressed by her willingness to truly listen and thoroughly respond to all my questions. She made me feel like I was her only patient of the day. The nurses/PAs who took my blood samples for various tests were also incredibly skilled and wonderful. It was the first time I didn't feel nauseous in over 15 years!

Dr. Purkis is not prompt at all with any appointment I've ever had with him, always leaving me waiting for at least an hour after my scheduled time, and then proceeds to haphazardly rush through the appointment without any genuine concern or care. He has left me without my medication refills multiple times, even after telling me they will be sent to the pharmacy that day, only to make me wait at least an extra day and usually forced to make another call to follow up on them sending it through. Complete lack of respect, care, and empathy for his patients as far as I've ever seen.

Dr. Ahmed is awesome. She is so patient with my elderly mother. She listens to her and responds with empathy and kindness. She actually really cares for her patients. Dr. Ahmed is smart, careful and an overall amazing doctor and person. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. D'Souza's for about 12 years and during that time the Dr. and his staff were always friendly and helpful. I never had to wait more than 20 minutes for any appointment. Now that Dr. D'Souza has retired and Dr. Ahmed took over the practice I was wondering how things would be with the new doctor. During my annual physical she was so pleasant and friendly, showed me my lab results and went over them in detail which I appreciated. She gave me my referrals and paper scripts of the meds I will need. Her staff was just as friendly and helpful. I'm so sorry for the others that had bad reviews, i just have nothing but praises for this new provider. I will definitely miss Dr. D'Souza but so glad I now have Dr. Ahmed!

Junia is friendly and she helped me a lot. I felt like she understood my situation and really helped me get by with the problems I was facing.

The office has a mer system everyone should use or you will miss messages form them, as I experienced once.
