This was one of the worst labor and delivery experiences my family has encountered. The staff and Dr. Kaitlyn Spears were terrible. Dr. Spears instructed me to push prematurely, which resulted in a 4th-degree tear, and she seemed to dismiss it as a common occurrence. Post-delivery, the staff were consistently rude. They denied my request for donor milk, despite my inability to breastfeed while recovering and my baby crying. Our entire stay was marked by their rudeness. I would advise recording your interactions from the moment you arrive if you anticipate needing to take legal action

Please do not go here and give birth if you have depression or bipolar and going into delivery with any mental status they will call cps and lie that you want to harm yourself after you gave birth to your first born. Very disgusting when I never said anything like that, also if that’s the case why let me leave with my baby? Please don’t go here. They ruined my experience on birthing my baby here. They will lie!!

During my labor, I started to keep notes on the poor care I received, that’s how bad it was. I was pressured into agreeing to an induction without allowing time for questions. I had a nurse that insisted I decide about Pitocin by 9 PM, or things ā€œwouldn’t proceed.ā€

The nurse revealed that other staff disliked her methods, claiming they were misunderstood due to her experience. She stated, ā€œwith me, baby trumps mom,ā€ making me feel unsafe about my care. God forbid it ever came to a moment of save the mom or save the baby, but if it did I would like to think a nurse isn’t the one that gets to pick over my family.

During a cervical check, she neglected to use barriers, leaving me on soiled sheets. When I asked for fresh linens hours later (that I even offered to change myself) she refused, blaming budget cuts and saying, ā€œget mad at the hospital for being cheap.ā€ Leaving me to labor on bloody sheets exposing me to an infection.

She left me unattended while malfunctioning equipment went off, requiring other nurses to assist. She doubted my labor progress, saying ā€œI would know if you were in pain if you were screaming and begging for an epidural.ā€ After ignoring me for hours, she increased my Pitocin dosage without consent while eating a granola bar and wearing an AirPod in her ear, she said ā€œthere now it looks like I’m doing somethingā€ showing her lack of seriousness.

Feeling frustrated and unsafe, I asked my husband to request another nurse. She denied his request and insisted she was the only one available. I asked her to leave my room three times before she finally did. Moments later, I heard her laughing with other nurses outside while I sobbed, unable to use the restroom for an hour.

This experience left me traumatized about childbirth and care at Sutter Health. Though I had a beautiful baby, my memories of the birth are forever tainted by this nurse’s neglect. I would never recommend giving birth here.
I did report this to the hospital to which they conducted an ā€œinvestigationā€ and then shortly closed it, they played phone tag with me for some time and eventually just sent me a letter saying they'd looked into it and the case was now closed. I was never informed about what their investigation findings were or if any action would be taken šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
If you can give birth literally anywhere else, do that.

This places website claims they offer midwife services, when I finally got into my first appointment with a MD I was made aware that the information provided is FALSE, If you're going based on the false claim i thought was real... Find a better facility or birthing center for your low risk pregnancy

It's been about a year and a half since my son was born here and we had a really good experience. Labor isn't fun but the staff here are knowledgeable and we felt very safe in their care at all times.

We had seen every OBGYN at Associate's in Women's Health during pregnancy, and also had good experiences with all of them.
When we had asked about midwife/doula services, one of the OBs told us that there were volunteer doulas for the hospital. This may be true, but none of them were there when we checked in at midnight, nor the entire following 20 hours. Not surprising, but we wished we'd have been explicitly told that it's a maybe and not a definitely. If you want a doula, plan ahead and hire your own.

Our OB Dr.Garland recommended a C section after many hours of labor, due to baby's heart rate dropping with contractions. She wasn't pushy about it, and we appreciated her bedside manner when she suggested it vs taking any risks with our baby's health.
C section went perfectly, baby was healthy, and the operating room staff was very warm and helpful towards us during this whole experience.

Our postpartum staff was phenomenal, we felt so cared for. We stayed as many days as our insurance would cover. Overall very happy with the experience we had here.

I was able to do half a second pregnancy with associates in women's health before I had to move away and transfer care. I wish I was coming back to this hospital for labor and delivery because we were treated very well.

My experience was amazing. Staff members were so helpful. I was feeling like home there. My special thanks goes to Karla, she motivated me during contractions that how to stay calm and positive. She is such a sweetheart. ( i can't forget her in my life) kindly send my message to her. And one special thnx to Annie (doula) she's such a pure soul. I actually gave birth there 3 months ago and once before almost 8 years ago. My first time was amazing, I had a wonderful doctor a regular birthing room and everything went well. This time when I gave birth I was treated really oddly. I felt almost targeted racially.
I have exceptional insurance. The same insurance that landed me a nice birthing room 8 years ago with my daughter, only this time I was given a small box like room, my IV for induction made my arm fill will solution and swell..
my food was never given correctly during my 24 hour stay. I ordered one meal but received something completely different..
I was contacted after I was discharged for assistance programs although my lifestyle and living situation does not call for such things. I was basically racially profiled as the hospital assumed I needed assistance based on my last name which is ethnic. It was a very terrible experience and honestly my worst birth out of 3 children I have ever had. It's unfortunate. I think they need to fix the racial aspects and stop assuming everyone's needs assistance. Its honestly disrespectful as I live a very fortunate life and never asked.

If I could give zero stars I would. It’s been almost two years since my delivery and the staffs bedside manner still haunts me. I had pad thrown at me, food withheld from me, unnecessary medical treatment forced upon me and my child, and the reason for treatment withheld from me. I was bullied, belittled, judged and threatened by the nurses and the doctors were never on the same page. I had a different story told to me each time they walked in. I was treated as a burden for asking questions. I’m not a medical professional and I had anxiety and wanted to know what they were doing to mine and my child’s body. The amount of fear mongering was uncalled for to say the least. My pregnancy wasn’t high risk, and there were no indications of anything out of the normal scope of delivery/recovery but they kept pushing to find something and kept us there desperately trying to find something that was not there. They made a huge profit at my expense.
