My wife has been at Sunset Lake Rehab center for a month now and I must give them 5 stars! I cannot say enough about the level of care she receives from the nursing staff, CNA staff. Physical therapy and occupational therapy all the way to the doctors on staff. They treat everyone with dignity, love and compassion. The food is amazing! with every single resident, each requiring their own personal dietary needs, my wife loves the meals. Even the administration is concerned for every resident and the families of residents. Please ignore those reviews where people just like to complain, I highly recommend Sunset Lake Rehabilitation and health care.

Facility deserves a zero. Don’t allow anyone you care about to be placed here. Could not believe this place still operating. Dirty. Smells. Short staffed. My father was largely ignored. No help going to bathroom or personal hygiene. He was filthy and smelled. I would be there for several hours and no one would come in to check on him at all. We had our family there all the time bc he was not receiving any care. Clothes were lost even with name on it. Would give him clothes to put on that were not his. Had to bring him drink bc never gave him anything to stay hydrated. Little to no rehab done. Waste of time-actually declined. Met with two department directors whom guaranteed things would change. After 3 days, things were still the same. We had him moved to another facility. They should not be open. This is NOT rehabilitation.

Had a nice private room with beautiful lake view but wasn't cleaned everyday. Staff very good during day but night shifts very slow. Also, I have Celiac & getting gluten free food a problem.

I will start by saying, please do not take your loved ones here. My mother was in there and almost died for three days she was complaining of severe pain. They told her that she was fine and her vitals were fine so the third day my sister and I called an ambulance which ticked off Donna one of the nurses and she told me that’s on you, not me I outrank any EMT and there’s nothing wrong with her, the EMT came and took her to the hospital and she had a massive infection and was sepsis. She almost died. The rooms are filthy. They don’t clean anything cockroaches running around the rooms patients across the hall in the room when my mother sleeping in her chair, not giving her pain medication for days, I could go on and on please again please do not send your loved ones here and at one point, we did speak to the administrator, which did absolutely nothing

We like the staff but the facilities has some issues. Residents allow dogs to continually deficate in the grass, side walks, no matter how many times you report it. We have had a rusted water heater on the side walk not going anywhere after being reported 2 weeks ago. A disable car not moving after 5 months, half of which had expired tags. A downed tree limb on the ground for a week. Average community not anything more.

I recently brought my father to Sunset Lake for rehab. What an amazing group of staff that took care of him. The personalized attention that was provided goes well above and beyond the call of duty. He came in and could not walk due to a stroke. Within 2 weeks, he was up on his feet walking several steps and feeding himself again. The administrator and nursing team met with me individually to make sure his needs were met as we expected. Kudos to Sunset Lake and the excellent care and attention they provided. I hope we do not have to use them again but they will be my first choice if that time ever arises. Many thanks to everyone at Sunset Lake.
