Dr. Brooks and the rest of the team were excellent! I was a walk-in needing stitches in my hand. They took me in quickly and sewed me up. Very nice team to talk to and work with. They asked great questions and listened to me. Dr. Brooks provided great post-suture care information. I have nothing but great things to say, but I hope I don't need to go back : )

This is a review on Summit Healthcare in general, I only gave two stars because the urgent care is not too bad, but the rest of it has been absolutely worthless. All the doctors want to do is send you around to other doctors so they can hit up your insurance as much as possible. They don't prescribe hardly anything, might as well be a homeopathic clinic (and that's not a compliment). It's such a shame because it would be so convenient, now we have to go to the valley to get any decent care or go to private practices.

If I could give more stars, I would. Dr. Nathan Brooks and his staff have been nothing but kind, professional, personable, and very responsive to my needs as a patient. I encourage anyone who’s left to give this place a second shot 🙂

Dr Schafer was pretty cool. I was nervous at my appointment but he made it so much better. His staff completely sucks and are the rudest of any office i’ve ever been to. I won’t go back here even though I had a good experience with the doctor. The front office people act like they are something special but really if it wasn’t for those who see the doctor or the practitioner here, the other staff wouldn’t even have a job. It’s worth going to Show Low or Snowflake or even to the valley just to avoid those nasty attitude people. Dr Schafer please do yourself a favor and get a whole new staff. It will improve the whole office and maybe more people would want to be treated here.

By far the worst two doctors I have ever met they spend more time talking about themselves then trying to help you. All Dr.reeves told to me is if you pray to god it will be okay. Dr.shafer cancelled two of my appointments because my physical pain is just “depression” and a “waste of his time” . Do not waste your time here all they care about is a paycheck and themselves !!!

People are friendly and got me in quickly without an appointment. I was super dehydrated and needed fluids but apparently they aren’t licensed to place an IV

I was told the cash price was $100 which I paid then and there. Lo and behold I get a bill months later saying I owed another $40.

I called to clarify and they said the initial cost was only an estimate. I paid the bill after services were rendered, they knew all they gave me was a shot of zofran. It was all on the price sheet. How do they underestimate by 40%?

The money isn’t the problem, I get frustrated how they tell you one thing and then they completely change it and you are powerless to reason or negotiate.

This is going to be a long one! I thought our experience was important to share;

It all started when my husband was seen in Jan of 2020 to get a referral, which was extremely important to get. I had to call numerous times after his appointment to see what the status of the referral was. I kept being directed to the PA of Devin Porter, roughly 6 times I called and didn't get ONE call back. Very frustrating so I took it upon myself to contact the referral line directly and was told nothing was in the system for my husband. So I'm calling the office back and finally tell the receptionist(Sarah) not to transfer me because no one ever calls me back and she is very rude and finally says, "oh we see his referral in the system, it's been in since his appointment", I tell her that we were told we would be called once the referral was in and every time I called the radiology department they couldn't find the referral and she doesn't give me an explanation or anything- then I say I want to make sure the referral is for "thoracic aortic aneurysm" and she tells me it's for "abdominal aortic aneurysm" I say that it's not for the heart and she says "aortic is for the heart"...what she failed to realize is there is TWO different aortic aneurysm's in the body, one is abdominal one is strictly for the heart. Well we went to the radiology department and sure enough they had ordered an ultrasound that was not for his heart, it was for his abdomen. This was such a waste of our time as my husband had to get time off work for the appointment and miss out on income. We had to call Summit Bison Ranch back and tell them that we needed a referral for the right ultrasound, which in the end wasn't an ultrasound at all, it was a CT Scan with contrast. We made sure before we left the very first appointment to let Devin Porters P.A. know what type of aneurysm it was so they could order the right one so my husband was seen promptly due to the severity of aneurysm that runs in the family. How this wasn't imputed in the system is beyond me. Then when the referral that we needed all along was FINALLY sent to insurance it took awhile because they had just paid out for an ultrasound that wasn't necessary! This was a very, very exhausting experience that I hope no one has to ever go through!!! We like Porter alot, unfortunately the way the office handled everything was so messy and shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Dr Schafer and his staff are THE WORST. Absolutely zero compassion, wife has been in excruciating pain for 3 months and all we get is a run around from this office. No help at all. Save your time and money and go somewhere else...
