I like to think that in every community especially for those of us dealing with mental health or substance abuse that there is a place where we can go to recover and grow! STAR WEST is a great resource and asset to the community in which it serves. Dont let the size of the building fool you, it functions as a full community center and provides trauma informed services. The programming was excellent. I really felt my values,beliefs, and comments were valued and understood as well as others. I was embraced by my fellow peers and even given a tour! Every group I went to the facilitator put the member first and made sure everyone had a voice or opportunity to speak up and participate. That's inspiring and empowering! You are given so many opportunities to grow and give back. STAR WEST is a pretty rocking community center that packs a excellent punch for peer recovery and mental health services! I would recommend them to the community at large and give them their respect and due because the center is changing lives and allowing people from the community to live a life they love! Kudos STAR WEST! REMEMBER ITS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT CAN LEAD/MAKE A HUGE IMPACT IN PEOPLE'S LIVES AND THE WORLD! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I was contacted by Star West very quickly after my doctor sent in the referral. I was so upset on the phone she wanted a counselor to contact me that same day but I asked to be contacted the next day. I waited a week before I got a call from the counselor only to schedule for 2 days later. We were ending our first session and he told me me that I needed to just let it go. I hung up and called the office to get a different counselor and was told that everything the woman told me 10 days prior was wrong and he was unaware of a counselor with that name. He told me he would call me without fail the next day with a new plan. That was a week ago. Still haven’t heard from anybody. If I could give a zero rating, I would.

For this area it's all we have for recovery groups outings n socail. U will find locals from this area are tight knit .once your in and they get to know u they will open up and becoming part of the star crew will be beneficial I like the fact that 3:30 for the evening program they take you to the 99 cent store the record store Etc it's also an extension to the Fun Bunch which is a group that takes you out through Friday days out of the month

This program has been heaven sent for my husband. I have seen rapid and continuous recovery. The staff and members are friendly and inviting to myself as well. Blessings upon blessings to this wonderful program!
