I am astounded that this is the organization that people depend on to make adequate and responsible mental health decisions. My mother visited these people a week ago looking for help, due to her being a threat to herself and having thoughts of self harm. First off rather than help her, they sent her to an all men's shelter and when she called them to tell them what they did, they told her she wasn't their problem. Why didn't you send her to a place that would help her with her mental health? Why would it have been so hard to give her the help that she needed? Would it have hurt you? Would it have cost you anything? No! Well so much for not being a threat to herself and so much for their "help"...... my mother overdosed Thursday March 14th and was air lifted to Sunrise. Good job and keep up the good work! With health care professionals like you, who needs enemies!?!?! Heaven forbid any of you find yourselves in a situation where you need help and that cry falls on deaf ears.

My son was placed in the air because he decided to walk away from a counselor, since when did counselors force you to talk about things you didn't want to talk about at this time. Issues that could cause you emotional issues.
But this power-hungry staff member took it one step further and decided to have my son put in for a 72 our hold. My son is not suicidal has not been suicidal and just because the counselor wants to force an issue is not a good reason to place them on a 72-hour hold that staff members should be retrained on how to use this facility.

They don't let people go outside. At all. There aren't even windows to look outside. There are no warm showers. There is no offered therapy or any structured activity. You never actually speak with a doctor, you just do a telehealth with someone who then relays that information to someone who can write prescriptions. They require everyone to get a shot of a long lasting psychiatric drug of their choosing before they let you leave. This is not a place of healing, this is a big pharma run human trafficking drug ring loosely disguised as a hospital. How is it even in business?

Discharged after one night, didn't help me. Didn't give me food, or give me my prescribed medicine. Overdose me on sleeping meds, could have ended badly but lucky for them it didn't. Got a nose bleed from it and a extreme head. Won't be going back.

My husband was admitted late April 2023 for a severe bipolar episode. That was one of the worst days of my life as I had no idea how severe this disorder could be on someone's mind and well being and we had been dealing with this for nearly two weeks. I was defeated and didn't know where to turn.

We arrived at Southwest Behavioral with no call ahead and it was about 4:30p. My husband was practically non responsive and I was terrified thinking what could be wrong.

The days before we had visited KRMC three times and were turned away as they assumed we were seeking drugs. My husband hadn't slept in two weeks, couldn't drive, and could barely speak, and yet we got NO help. I really was about to lose my own mind at that point.

When we arrived at Southwest Behavioral, I wasn't sure what would happen, but from the get go we were welcomed with open arms. The two ladies (I wish I took their names) that admitted us were so patient and kind. When I found out my husband would be admitted, I was so devastated but they gave me plenty of time to say goodbye and I didn't feel judged at all.

My husband was under the care of Southwest for 4 days. I called every morning, afternoon, and night and even when I wasn't able to speak to my husband due to the call hours being certain times, the nurses over the phone made sure I knew exactly what care he was receiving, if he'd slept, and any other update or question I had was answered with kindness and answered thoroughly.

When my husband was discharged, the nurses made sure I was able to pick him up on my schedule and informed me of all the medication, times, and follow up appointments he had. My husband was healed and was back to normal! They got the medicine right and he was back in good health.

I wish I could personally give each of the healthcare workers here a huge hug. My husband said every single person working there really cares about people's mental health and is dedicated to making people better. I could cry just thinking of how thankful I am for this place.

Kingman, AZ isn't known for having the best mental health care, but Southwest Behavioral Health far exceeded any expectations I had. This place was a light at a very dark tunnel for us.

I sincerely thank you all for everything. I wasn't sure I would get my husband back, especially not this soon, but everything you did brought him back to the people who love him and we are forever thankful.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It's exactly what this area needs and I hope it's around for years to come. Please keep up the good work. You are changing lives for the better and you've definitely touched our lives and we'll never forget this.

Took my friend here to get some help voluntarily. Robyn at the front desk was kind, professional, and took really great of us. I look forward to the care my friend will be receiving but so far we are satisfied!

This place is changing my life in the most positive way. I love this place. There are a lot of people and a bigger place is needed. Being cramped causes tension and no one should have to deal with that. Thank you.

I was in a pretty bad way going in but was treated with dignity and respect even being a substance abuse case. Comfortable recliners and good movies on the KOU side and a relaxed atmosphere with movies, music, games, and good meals with snacks between, even learned a few depression and anxiety combatting techniques and turned onto some great self help books when I moved into KRU. If your considering treatment and able to get into either side (KRU or KOU) go.
