I would like to share my disappointment regarding the laboratory at Sharp Coronado Hospital. I went in this week to have a series of blood work done which were ordered by my doctor. The following morning, I received a call from my doctor's office informing me that the blood tests are now "invalid" due to negligence of the lab using "expired" tubes. I was shocked to learn that this facility lacked the proper procedures when it came to handling their equipment and inventory. This created stress and was such an inconvenience for me. I was asked to return to the doctor's office to pick up a new lab order. Unfortunately, I now have to wait a few days before I can retest. This turned out to be a major setback. I do not place blame on the phlebotomist. However, there is a serious problem with the way this lab is run. I will not be returning to Sharp Coronado Hospital for any future lab services.
