My husband was a patient at Select Specialty Northwest Tucson for almost 2 weeks August/ September and we cannot thank them enough for the excellent care he received. The doctors managed his care superbly and the staff carried out his care equally well.
Everyone - whether a nurse, a CNA, a respiratory therapist , a physical therapist, an occupational therapist and so many others- everyone was friendly,caring attentive, highly professional, giving him excellent and compassionate care.
Everyone who entered his room, whether to give him direct care or indirect as someone coming to clean the room, - all helped him heal with smiling faces and attentive listening and we just can't recommend this hospital enough.

I would take heed before leaving your loved ones her. My father was in their care and it was under their "care" and lack of attention that my father unfortunately wasn't given any chance to live. For most of his last 18 hours of his life he was suffering due to a brain bleed and stroke he had under their care. Not one of the trained nurses, respiratory therapists nor doctor were able to see any signs of the stroke. At 1500, When my mom go to Select she immediately noticed something was wrong and requested the doctor. The doctor did not show up until 1700. and finally responded to the situation. Once we go to the ER we were told dad had a large bleed that had happened nearly 24 hrs. prior and there was nothing they could do at that point.
We understand it wasn't their fault my father passed away, however due to the lack of attention and care for my father, he wasn't given any chance for more time.

This hospital and all of its doctors and nurses are AMAZING!!! My dad was here for 5 weeks. And he wasn't a cake walk. They took great care of him!!! The staff was always so helpful and kind. My 4 year old daughter made best friends with about half the staff. I would definitely recommend sending your loved ones here.

Our experience at Select Specialty Hospital was excellent across the board! My mother was transferred there following a critical illness and the attention to her needs. The teams were informative regarding her progress and compassionate with her and our family. Our positive experience helped make a hard situation much easier. Select Specialty Hospital in Tucson is by far the nicest facility for chronically / very sick patient population. Staff and leadership are safe, and careful. Student RNs are welcomed and have received first rate training and exposure to various situations that will set them up for success.

The salesman who sold me a room at this facility, said I was a perfect fit. After being admitted and working with the doctors and nurses regarding my needs and care plan they all agreed I was probably the worst fit. The food was barely edible. The response time to my call button ranged from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. I had several different doctors who all prescribed different things without including me in the explanations or medication information. Discharge medications were confusing and not explained to me. Some staff were extremely rude and administration is more concerned with rules than patient comfort and quality of life. There were a few staff who were wonderful like Traci, Julie, Shelee and Electra. I was promised 2 walks/day with physical therapy and I only got 1 walk the last 2 days before my discharge. This was a miserable experience. I hope nobody else has to survive a stay there.

Select medical is an amazing caring facility. The staff is very knowledgeable as well as caring. The doctors are very attentive and take pride in the quality of care they give patients. The nursing students are always amazing and provide an extra helping hand. The facility itself is very clean and well
Kept. I would recommend it to anyone.
