My experience with the doctors and nurses at Scripps has been excellent—not just at this location, but across all of their facilities. The medical care I’ve received has consistently been top-notch, and I truly appreciate the expertise and compassion of the clinical staff.

However, at the East Lake location, the front office experience significantly impacts the Scripps experience. One staff member, in particular, is flagrantly absurd, unprofessional and disrespectful, even in the presence of a supervisor. I find her behavior so concerning that I am looking for care at Sharp. It’s disappointing to encounter such issues at an otherwise reputable organization, and it does raise questions about the overall management and culture at this location.

I hope Scripps addresses these concerns, as the quality of care provided by the medical team deserves to be matched by the professionalism of the entire staff.

I really want to commend the skill level of all the phlebotomists I've seen here. After years of blood draw trauma, I no longer feel like I need to take Xanax before getting labs. If you're a good person with bad veins you know what I'm talking about.

Everyone, from reception to lab tech, is very nice and lab results are quickly posted. Everyone is also quite efficient and capable of working their with various other systems and I have yet to run into a problem where one cog cannot communicate with another department. I'm not saying this about all of Scripps as I've had many issues with other departments and internet forms.

Also, there are places to park at this facility and there are weekend hours.

I don't love getting lab work, but the Eastlake Scripps coastal office people have made it all much less daunting. Thank you to all at this facility.

2 stars cause I do love my pediatrician-

Complete disappointment and horrible experience with Scripps billing. June 19, 2024 I was sent a bill that was over 700 dollars. I paid it then cried to my husband over an unexpected expense. He looked over the bill and noticed billing had double charged for the same procedure. I immediately left a portal message and called the number to dispute the charge. When I talked to billing over the phone, they said it was an error and that it would be fixed. What shocked me was when the service rep said it would take up to 30 days to resolve. Why? You just admitted the error- fix it!? Well, that’s their policy… I have called at least 5 different times (I have a newborn and each call- at least an hour!) and I’ve received nothing but the run around and DIFFERENT opinions each call! I’ve asked to speak to supervisors only to be told no one was available - I’d get a call back. I never got calls back from supervisors !!! So here I am, more than 30 days later- NO refund! Almost 600 dollars owed back to me and this type of service is making me look into a new provider! Scripps billing management- I hope you listen to every call I’ve made and make changes! This type of policy and service is absolutely unacceptable .

UPDATE: Scripps reply below to send them an email - we’ll I did! They’ve provided NO REPLY or higher up to reach out to me and discuss. I finally received a letter saying it’s their fault and I will get a refund-BUT it’s now August 7 I’m still waiting for my 600 dollar refund. HORRIBLE

Went to get some labs done at 7am Friday 11/29. No one there. No sign saying it's closed. Website doesn't say they're closed. Pretty poor management and customer service.

I’ve been extremely happy with them. Very fast service, their doctors and nurses spend more time with me than anyone in my life, the doctors give sound advice, the check in staff is very nice.

My doctor’s team is AMAZING, I’m extremely happy with them but recently had an insurance issue where multiple times the staff didn’t enter my information correctly, like, how do you even manage to look at the card, make a copy of said card, yet STILL not have it right? Literally over 5 times in a row, right after a surgery. I had to cancel my PT because they said my insurance lapsed (it literally never has), I had to call the insurance company and have them handle it on three way because it kept happening over and over and over again. It’s been alright since then though.

The lab staff aren’t great. Kind of nonchalant, a little rude and not gentle.

Worst experience. They charged me without explanation for the details. And I was told that my insurance should cover it all. I wouldn’t have got checked if I knew it cost that much money! Plus, I was trying to figure out how it happened but the lady on the phone hanged up all the sudden and never give me another call.. that means she intentionally did it as I requested the call originally and she was the one gave me the call. She can always give me another call. What can I do now.. they never check emails or messages either.

This place is full of horrible people. Mike on the referral and appointment line was continuously rude and unprofessional. He and the other staff continued to make excuses for being unable to assist with receiving a new referral. When I finally got the referral to them (after an entire week of trying), he made derogatory comments that I was "too pregnant" to get an appointment. When told that the only appointment available was during a required work trip, he condescendingly kept insisting that they couldn't help me since I wouldn't take time away from my "vacation". When I explained that I was in no rush and was willing to wait for a later appointment date, he insisted again that I was "too pregnant" to have a pregnancy confirmation appointment. I asked him to explain why 8 weeks pregnant is "too pregnant" when I will assuredly be even more obviously pregnant at a later date. He cut me off and said no doctors would take me past 8 weeks pregnant. I sincerely hope that this is not a reflection on the type of care Scripps practices as a whole. It is uneducated, unhelpful, and has no place in the healthcare practice. I will be advising against anyone wasting their time at this practice, especially military families, who they seem to discriminate against by having them go through the painstaking process of uploading their own referral (instead of accepting it from Tricare), only to reject them once the referral is made available. What a disgrace.
