My second appointment in 2 weeks to radiology. SMH has decided to run a radiology business out of their ER. At both visits I was bumped by ER patients. Why schedule an appointment for someone and not have the staffing? On this second visit, I was asked upon arrival if I was an add on. I said that I didn't know. At approx. 0830am this morning, my Doctor's office called and stated they'd found an MRI appointment for me at 545pm today. I assumed they'd had a cancelation. I have cancer and appointments have been difficult to get and a slow process. I have two types of cancer and they fear it's in my shoulder. I'm soon to begin treatment and we need to know all its lications and types. I'm not here for a sprained ankle. I arrived at my arrival time of 545pm. I paid the $1453 fee and waited. At 640pm I was advised it would be another 30-45 minutes because of ER patients bumping me. It is 715pm and I'm still waiting. I was taken back at approximately 740pm. That is approximately 2 hrs after my report time. I do not recommend Sarasota Memorial Hospital/ Radiology. I will update this post when able.
After this post I was contacted by this facility. They're doing their best to improve the efficiency of this facility.
I have since had fabulous interactions with the main hospital in Sarasota and I cannot say enough nice things about the main campus. Wow! What a striking contrast.

Came in to be seen yesterday. Very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the front staff, and this speed and efficiency and professionalism continued in the emergency room itself. Great staff with all the nurse assistance, LPNs, x-ray tech, and all. In and out quickly diagnosed appropriately. They left no stone unturned. They didn’t short change any of the tests and I left there knowing that I was OK and how to continue treatment appropriately. Can’t ask for anything more than that. I’ve worked in hospitals in the military for six years, and I’ve seen the very best and the very worst that can happen. Sarasota Memorial Hospital has never failed me or my family. They are a benchmark of Quality!

I brought my 5 yr old daughter to the ER after she took a fall and hit her head. Ashley and Karen in the ER were absolutely great with my daughter. They made her feel comfortable and completely at ease. I’m thankful for healthcare professionals who understand the hospital can be scary for little kids and go out of their way to make it not scary for them.

I arrived at my 215appt at 130. Received a call at 134p saying that there was an emergency and that my appt was changed to 545p. What At 530p they called me up to the registration desk to tell me that the mri machine was broken. I waited over 4 hours to learn this after waiting over a month for my brain MRI.
I don’t understand why they just couldn’t take the appts in order and each just be late. I understand emergencies. But over 4 hours, only to cancel.
The next schedule appt is a week and an hour drive from where I live. Unacceptable service. This brain melting was necessary for my March 25th radiation consultation appt

The doctors and staff at this facility are absolutely amazing. Everyone was professional, dedicated, and polite. Willing to help readily in any way,shape,or form. I have worked in health care for years and that was not always the case. Although we did have one fatality the staff was warm and compassionate. They were soothing to our hearts and soul.

I had a horrible fall just after Christmas of this year. My husband was so concerned that he wanted to take me to the emergency room in Port Charlotte. I refused. I had heard so many horror stories of our Port Charlotte facilities. I decided if I was going to go to an ER I wanted to go to the North Port Sarasota ER. I was so impressed with they're quick response. Shortly after I arrived I was quickly taken to a treatment room and had four to five people in there working on me. The doctor ordered tests and x-rays which were quickly done. They treated me with the utmost care and concern. I was released after a couple of hours as I was now stable. This is the only ER I will go to from here on in.

Very impersonal therapists. Lacked any compassion whatsoever. Never showed any interest in me as a patient. Filled out 12 pages of paperwork and no discussion whatsoever. During my third 15 minute session, the therapist came over and told me my leads were on incorrectly. Thirty plus minutes into my sessions, and I was pushing myself, was it noticed that they were not monitoring my heart rate. I only wonder what might have happened if I had an episode. I stopped going to rehab.

Everybody from the time I walked in signed up for my test when I went in the other day to the MRI tech himself was wonderful. The girls at the front desk were fabulous. They just treated me like I was part of their family and it was a great experience, also I get my blood work done at your lab and those two especially the short lady are really wonderful people personable and I believe her name was. Christine was wonderful. Didn’t feel a thing.
