Initially, I didn't have a problem going to Sarah. Simple things like sinus infections and such were no problem. But once I had a more difficult problem, things got surprisingly unpleasant. I am not sure if she was in a bad mood or if her personal life was bleeding into the work or if it was simply a knowledge deficiency.

What I do know is that I did not feel safe with her as my healthcare provider. Instead of helping me find someone who can help if she could not, she just said I had anxiety and it was all in my head. Meanwhile, I literally felt strangled and could not swallow. I did have anxiety secondary to the original problem.

Lucky for me, I have an amazing gynecologist who sent me to the right person. A year later, and another provider later and I am finally getting the right help. I think it's important for patient's to feel taken care of or you'll make the "anxiety" worse. That is why I had to let her go and find a new provider. The first thing I learned in nursing school was "treat the patient not the machine." Sarah failed to do that. It was a horrible experience and I do not recommend.

Love the office. And Sarah Determan. I have been a patient of hers for 20+ years, and could always call anytime and talk to the staff if I had a problem. Very hands on treatment. Since the hospital has taken over that is not the case. I call but I get the hospital instead and get a recording saying that they will send a message. I feel very distant and neglected by the hospital and their way of doing things. Like all they see is my money not my health. Would like to see it go back to the personal touch not this distant feeling. That I can’t get to my health provider when i need to.
