(1 yr ago) Maybe getting a second opinion. Ive been dealing with arthritis in my r knee for years, about 5, and been trying otc pain meds and exercise, even cortisone. my primary recommended surgery but Dr Tawakkol says too soon. Then I told him Ive lost 50 lbs in 5 months through diet and exercise, which is healthy. his response is to see my primary and get injections to help with weight loss. dont like that at all

Edit: made a second visit last week and a very improved experience so added a star. This time Dr. Tawakkol was more willing to find out more about my knee and explained thoroughly why surgery was not the best option at this time. He recommended I visit with another doctor to further treat my osteoarthritis.

I waited three months to get into see This doctor he comes into the exam room and he’s in there no more than two minutes telling me I have sciatica which I know I don’t because I’ve had it many days before never bothered to touch my hips my legs anything I just wanted to start a series of sciatica shots I will not be going back to this doctor ever and I would never give a good review for anybody to go to this doctor I don’t think he is good at all. He wasted my time and my insurance his money he’s only there for the money I think not for the patient I will make an appointment with a real orthopedic doctor that knows what he’s talking about

I had my second knee replacement on May 15, 2024 by Dr. Tawakkol. Today was my second post surgery visit in which he removed my bandage. I was shocked for it was beautiful! A thin incision line which was clear. I could not believe how precise, clean and no redness! It looked like the work of a plastic surgeon. My healing journey has been remarkable for I am walking on my own with little help from a cane and it has only been 20 days! I was blessed to be in the hands of this outstanding Physician! He and his staff have treated me with respect and kindness.

If you are needing a knee replacement, I highly reccomend Dr. Tawakkol.

He's by far one of the best doctors I've ever experienced in my life. His attention to my specific needs is amazing. He's on top of everything immediately. He never puts it off like it can wait a week. He takes care of it immediately. He treats me like I'm the only patient he has. Not to mention the fact he's an exceptional surgeon. He's definitely an asset to Yuma regional.
