Patients visiting this location can anticipate consultations with qualified orthopedic physicians who possess the expertise to address a diverse range of conditions. These typically encompass common issues such as arthritis, back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint pain, fractures, and degenerative joint diseases like osteoarthritis. Very disappointed about two visits to dr HERSHEY.
I have a bad pain in my knee, but he says, that my MRI is absolutely good. No problems at all!!! And X-rays perfect!!
But when I read reports of radiologist, I see different kinds of problems. But for dr HERSHEY it is nothing!!! He is Not a professional at all!!!!!
When I put any small pressure on my knee, I feel bad pain. He told meā€don’t do it ā€œ. Don’t use my legs?
When I will die, i will not use my body. But so far i am alive, I want to use my legs at least simplest way without pain. He doesn’t see ANY problems . No helpful !!!
Not professional!!!

Once in for x-rays this morning, and was pleased by the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. A CT scan prior to my upcoming surgery was Required and all of the clinics were fully booked for a few weeks out, unfortunately. Mayra went above and beyond to see what she could do to get me an appointment with one of their networking clinics. Very pleased with the experience.

I wish Dr. Doornik hadn’t retired! He was such a great doctor! I could go see him for several reasons and he would address everything in one visit! Now you have to make an appointment for different issues you have or different body parts. I live 45 minutes away and they used to give you a 15 minute grace period to arrive before they made you reschedule your appointment, now it’s 10 minutes and I wasn’t aware of that. Yesterday I arrived 11 minutes late so for 1 minute after the grace period I was refused to be seen and I was there in the office already and in so much pain. I’ve seen 3 different doctors and they just keep ā€œpassing the buckā€ giving me the runaround and just passing me down to the next doctor and none of them resolve my knee pain! When Dr. Doornik was there he did surgery on my left knee and said I would soon need to have surgery on my right knee too but then he retired. Dr. Hershey said I don’t need surgery and that my knee is fine but if I want I could see another doctor in his office. 3 months later I had another MRI and my knee was worse but according to them there’s nothing wrong with my knee. I’m a cancer patient too and in the scan I read that I have a small tumor and when I questioned it Dr. Hershey said it was nothing to worry about. I was told the same thing about my abnormal mammogram, I requested a breast MRI and yup the cancer was there. So having a small tumor in my knee is very worrying specially because I’m in so much debilitating pain that I can barely walk and swallow but according to this office I’m ā€œokā€
I’ve asked my Primary doctor to refer me to a new specialist! We need to advocate for ourselves! Speak up specifically if we have a gut feeling that there’s something wrong going on with our bodies!

Had my left knee replaced at SVMCO/SVMH. It will be a year this October. Dr Tardeau is an excellent Surgeon. However, the organization here is just awful. I had my right done at the ā€˜other’ hospital with Dr Pitta at Monterey Spine and Joint/CHOMP. It was easy with a different Hospital, though I still suffered with extreme pain. So my recovery at Salinas was complicated. Excessive Bleeding that lasted two weeks and extreme pain. Then I was left with no pain medication/management for 5 days starting at day 6 after surgery. I made 22 calls to the Doctor’s office and the only person who ever got back to me was a patient advocate who had been following my progress. She was as baffled as I was as to why anyone would allow my condition to deteriorate to the point where my leg became infected and I spent close to 20 hours in the ER over 4 days getting my leg treated back to health. 6 weeks of strong antibiotics. But the period without proper medication was a nightmare. Never in my life have I experienced such discomfort. I was close to being homicidal and now understand why people occasionally shoot up a doctor’s office, clinic or hospital. Sad. But I learned my lesson and frankly I’d been warned by two Doctors who had commented on the choice I had. In comparison with MSJ they provided me with a messaging app that allowed me to communicate directly with my surgeon and he would respond within minutes any time day or night. I found it necessary to use the system but everything that came up was addressed within an hour or 2… kudos to MSJ. Never again will I use SVMOrtho.

I have had 7 surgeries, 3 of which were total joint replacements done by 4 of the surgeons at this group. I have other issues that are being managed non surgically as well. Overall i am very satisfied. The only issue i have experienced is my issues are routinely underestimated which prolongs getting them resolved.

RUN AWAY!! Below zero. Negligent.
These incompetent, uncaring, unprofessional people took my life, as I once knew it, away forever.
Trusted them with my care, SVMC Dr Kelvin Lim was highly recommended by Drs on Duty (Lighthouse Ave) whose Salinas Valley Radiology is incompetent as well. (Found out too late that soft tissue damage was evident on very first X-ray).
Obtained referral to Dr Lim and went to SVMC with a severe wrist injury, Dr Lim was too good to examine me in person but two surgeons, Dr Lim and Dr Swan supervised their PA Mr Heffington. I was not given informed consent before treatment, I was casted and treated
FOR A FRACTURE THAT I DID NOT HAVE!
I was not tested for soft tissue injuries that I had at time and will have forever, because of their delays, became beyond repair. Now my only option is live with it or fusion, look up Arthrodesis for SLAC Wrist. That is if you can find a surgeon willing to mess with a CRPS patient.
The tight cast applied at SVMC by PA’s PA caused CRPS Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (there’s no cure) within 24 hours of their combined negligence.
Throughout I was casually seen, misdiagnosed, mistreated and later coldly kicked to the curb once these unconscionable cowards at SVMC saw their mistakes in black and white from outside MRI. The PA even wrote that I had ā€œpain disproportionate to injuryā€, in my chart. This wording happens to be one of the first criteria for diagnosing CRPS. Which tells me that they knew that they had mistreated me and didn’t care.
They left me with a lifelong deformity, a lifelong intractable pain disease, clinical severe depression, clinical anxiety, disability, loss of income, various endless frustrating humiliating Dr visits, people don’t understand CRPS, needing daily care and help for everything, can’t paint, can’t drive, sleep, my quality of life is horrible.
DR KELVIN LIM, DR JUSTIN SWAN, AND ROYCE HEFFINGTON PA, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.
YOU TOOK AWAY MY LIFE AND ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL THAT YOU WON’T EVEN OWN OR FIX YOUR MISTAKES.
WELL, YOU MIGHT BUT THE MRI DOESN’T LIE, I WAS MISDIAGNOSED, MISTREATED AND KICKED TO THE CURB.
