My son was brought in by ambulance with kidney failure. The emergency room did take a long time to get him upstairs but he did have great care especially when he went up to a room. I have to say nurse Amanda Mayfield is hands down one of the best and most positive along with very compassionate nurses. She kept on top of things along with ensuring that my son had all his needs. Love her. The dietary Lily Capes was very compassionate and made sure he had things also. I’m very glad he has had these 2 every day during his stay. Top notch if you ask me. They need a pat on the back and acknowledgment so others can be like them. Compassion and time goes a long way when you’re sick. They not have rocked it.

Over 6 hours to get discharged? Literally sitting in the room not hooked up to anything or getting any care. Sitting waiting for doctor to do paperwork according to a nurse, waiting on the nurse according to the doctor, they are understaffed and overfilled according to admin…..I WONDER WHY WHEN PEOPLE SIT FOR 6 HOURS WAITING TO LEAVE?!?!? Go to UAB or St Vincent’s, your blood pressure will be better for it!

Worst ER ever. Hope you’re aren’t in need of urgent care because they cannot provide it. Got an medical issue they don’t want to deal with? It’s fine they’ll make you set around till it’s time for shift change. While I waited for 5 and a half hours I spoke to another family. Same as me they waited over 5 hours. Eventually they just left. While 5-6 nurses were sitting at the nurses station not one looked up from there cell phones to notice the family walking out. 30 minutes later the Doc comes in to the nurses station still trying to treat a patient that’s not even there. Moral of the story you’re better off dying instead of going here. 0/10 WORST ER/HOSPITAL.

if I could give these mfkers a worse rating than 1 star I would do it in a heartbeat… One of the absolute worst hospitals in the country I’m sure… All the failures that couldn’t get a job at UAB or any other thriving hospitals in the USA wind up here!!! Their mal-practice insurance must be through the roof… My Dad always told me he’d rather die in a ambulance in route to UAB than to be pushed over in a corner to die alone and every person I talk to in the Calhoun County area all says the same thing… One would think the people who run RMC would take offense to the fact that everyone thinks it’s a POS hospital and try and change it but like everything else the bottom line is profits and bonuses instead of taking care of patients and their families… The people of the Calhoun County and surrounding area deserves so much better than the way RMC is being and has been run for years!!!

Horrible place! I've had multiple family members go here and they treat you horribly after making you wait all day to get seen. Another family member who worked here has left because she felt like her license was on the line. If you can avoid this place and can sacrifice a further drive somewhere else, PLEASE DO!

this hospital could have killed me they do not care about patients at all. did not test me for anything they just assume what’s wrong with you. i went there because i couldn’t breathe and was breaking out with a racing heart feeling like i was gonna die and they just told me i was having a panic attack when come to find out i was having a severe allergic reaction. if it wasn’t for my mom giving me a benadryl before leaving to go to the hospital i would have died.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN. my one-year-old fell and cracked her head open we got there 15 minutes after it happened at 11 PM and did not leave until 5:30 AM we didn’t see a doctor until 5 AM they took her temperature when we got there had us wait in the waiting room didn’t even check to see if she was still bleeding ever again they called three people back that Doctor after we did that we’re not urgent before my daughter when the doctor did say yes he said that our charge was literally lost for five hours and that’s why I took them so long even getting discharged took 30 minutes we have an appointment with her pediatrician tomorrow to make sure all is well but it’s a horrible place in general there were also an old woman who had a broken arm and was profusely sweating that was not seen until six hours after She got there and a woman who had cut her fingers open with a box cutter it didn’t leave until after we did
