I no longer feel comfortable at Riverside Family Medicine; Dr. Katona is a good doctor but the front end staff can be extremely rude. I never can get my $35 medical paperwork filled out in a timely manner that is required every 6 months for my job and it’s always missing the same information which causes me to miss my deadline. I have been coming here for 19 years and the last few years have not been a good experience… When I call the office I’m always sent to voicemail or put on hold once they identify my birth and name which I finds extremely suspicious. I recently sent Dr. Katona a certified letter detailing to him what was going on since I could not get any responses from his staff… I just don’t feel welcome there anymore, so it’s long overdue for me to move on and find another doctor.

This rating is for Sonya the office manager that told me she’s the only one there that fills out FMLA paperwork then in the same phone conversation she tells me the paperwork is not ready because they are short staffed. I was also told by her they have a two week turn around policy. This is just ridiculous to let important papers sit on your desk for weeks out when it only takes a few minutes to answer. It’s not like we’re asking her to write a book. Just answer a few questions that she already have the answers to, especially when the $30 fee has been paid upfront. She tells one lie after another until she can’t lie anymore. I think she is just incompetent when it comes to filling out medical leave forms because we go through this same thing with her every 6 months. When she finally gets them done they’re usually rejected because she hasn’t filled it out correctly. She causes you to miss your deadline of getting the forms turned in to your job. I know good help is hard to find these days but having someone sit in a position that can’t do the job is the same as not having help. I don’t know if Dr. Katona knows this is going on or not but I think she is bad for business.

I have been going here for many years. I always get the best care and everyone here is so friendly and helpful. I am usually in and out within an hour. Usually when I call with an issue, I get an appointment the next day, which is very nice. I have always been given the correct diagnosis and if I follow the treatment I will recover and be back to normal quickly. I haven't even minded having blood work done here, even though I am not particularly fond of needles. This is definitely my favorite doctor's office to visit whenever I have something wrong.

My primary care doctor abruptly closed his practice without any notice. I ended up applying to become a new patient at Riverside Family Practice and was denied and I was not given a reason for the denial!
