Rising Roads was an integral part of my recovery. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I had every chance at sobriety and helped me to lay the foundation I needed to continue evolving in my wellness. While it seems some of the core elements of RRR have changed since I was a client 3 years ago, I can confidently say that my experience in 2021 was a positive one (albeit challenging at times -- which should be expected in any legitimate treatment environment). I am grateful to the women here and the impact they had on the course of my life.

I will always be grateful to rising roads for saving the lives of some of the friends i made while i was there who were struggling with addiction. that will always be most important thing rising roads has done for me. i didn’t have an easy time here, coming in as a mental health patient and not struggling with addiction, i felt that rising roads was unequipped. they accept everyone and tell everyone personally that the program is perfect for them, no matter their situation. i wouldn’t recommend this program for those struggling with primarily serious mental health conditions unrelated to addiction. that being said, i wouldn’t take back the time i spent here. the family program and months of family therapy repaired my relationship with my parents and sibling in a way i never thought possible. i am endlessly grateful for this. i did not get the mental health care i was expecting, it was incredibly surface level in therapy. a few groups were helpful in a generalized way. i am doing all the work now, after, attending the therapy i was promised there. a place like this cannot provide truly individualized care. 80% of my time here was spent having to larp as an alcoholic in order to sit in AA meetings. but rising roads did cause me to mature a lot, although not in the ways i expected. a lot of what made me grow as a person while i was here was dealing with the shortfalls at rising roads; navigating every aspect of my life being controlled by a staff who were largely unprofessional (many had no qualifications except experience with addiction), who were more like a fellow patient; bullying clients, breaking hippa and creating drama.

at worst, i watched rising roads mishandle a mental health patient in a way that “in my opinion” contributed to their passing while they were under rising roads’ care. i will never forget the response of some staff, some saying that this client was set on dying and nothing was going to stop them. they were nineteen. i will never forget the entirely avoidable tragedy i witnessed here, the person who was desperate, whose life was in their hands and they failed.

however, for addiction, i have seen rising roads be a game changer and life saver for many, the last stop on the way to recovery even after being in and out of rehab so many times. even with a lot of bumps in the program along the way
