MY SITUATION
I’ve struggled with sleep-onset and sleep-maintenance insomnia for about 15 years. Prescription medications keep me asleep for about 5-6 hours, but I’d feel much more rested with 7-8 hours. Moreover, I worry that taking prescription medication consistently night after night, year after year is having a negative impact on my health. Several friends and colleagues swear by the power of CPAP-assisted sleeping, so my doctor referred me to ReactDX for an at-home study.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Score: 5/5
The NiteWatch is lightweight and has a soft rubber wristband that is secured with two rounded fasteners. On the body of the NiteWatch there is a USB charging port, O2 sensor port, and ON/OFF button. The NiteWatch arrives fully charged and the instruction booklet advises users not to charge the watch. In addition to the NiteWatch there is a soft rubber O2 sensor. While the NiteWatch face briefly lights up after being turned on, it does not remain on for long. The only light emitted throughout the night is a soft red light from within the O2 sensor. Unless you have the O2 sensor pressed up against your eyeball, it shouldn’t be distracting.
Note: As specified in the instruction booklet, the NiteWatch is designed specifically to detect sleep apnea.
USING THE PRODUCT
Score: 5/5
Easy-peasy — if you’re responsible and read the instructions in advance of your first night using the product. The NiteWatch sends biometric data to your smartphone, which means you will need to download the ReactDX Sleep app to your personal device. The app will ask you to provide just a couple of pieces of personal information like name and D.O.B. There might be some other information I’m forgetting. Information between the NiteWatch and your smartphone is shared wirelessly, so ensure that your Bluetooth connection is on. When you’re ready to go to sleep attach the O2 sensor to the NiteWatch, fix the NiteWatch around your wrist, and slip the O2 sensor ring around whichever finger is most comfortable. I used my ring finger. Keep your smartphone plugged in and charging as the data transmission will slowly drain the battery. In addition, keep your smartphone nearby. I placed mine on my bedside table.
Each morning, after you wake up, use the ReactDX Sleep app to upload the data to ReactDX. Do this immediately so that you don’t forget later.
REACTDX CUSTOMER SERVICE
Score: 5/5
I contacted ReactDX customer service on three occasions: (1) before receiving the product to confirm insurance coverage and estimated cost; (2) to confirm that my data had been successfully uploaded; and (3) to dispute a text message from ReactDX informing me (incorrectly) that I had failed to return to the device. In terms of helpfulness and knowledge, ReactDX customer service did an excellent job. Only one of the customer service representatives sounded like she hated her job, or at least hated doing it early in the morning. Even so, none of the representatives were ever rude to me. The only problem I experienced was receiving a text message informing me that I had not returned the NiteWatch. Fortunately, I had taken a picture of the return box and tracking number, and therefore had proof that the product had been received by ReactDX within the established timeframe. Customer service handled this situation smoothly and politely.
