I was a patient in the summer of 2022 via Zoom. Working with the nurse was nice, but I had a problem with email and billing. I had one appointment in June and one in July. I emailed them mid-July to say I hadn't seen a claim on my insurance nor had I seen a copay on my credit card. I got no response. Finally on August 29, 2022, I was ebilled two copays and I paid them that day. Fast forward to April 2024, I received a bill in my email for my third/final appointment from August 2022. TWENTY months later! I can find no evidence of communication (or ebills) from Progressive Psych during those 20 months. I emailed the address listed on their website in April 2024, and again, no response. Once I figured out that it was real/accurate, I paid it. But wow, that's ridiculous.

I cannot recommend Sara Beal and this practice enough. I was very nervous to schedule an appointment as a new patient and was treated with such kindness by Wanda who was very reassuring and got me in immediately on a weekend. She was also the friendly face I walked into and just as pleasant in person, ready to help with anything to ensure my comfort. Upon my first appointment Sara immediately put me at ease. Her genuine care and concern for my health and well being was immediately apparent as well as her passion to help others. Her high level of expertise, attention to detail and genuine patience with me was wonderful . She takes the time to truly listen and doesn’t rush you! She continually goes above and beyond expectations, often reaching out to check on me after hours to monitor my health and ensure we are on the right path. You know you’re on the journey together and in the absolute best care here all around. I’m so grateful for all they’ve done and continue to do!

Dr. Gharavi is one of the most attentive physicians I’ve been treated by. He took the time to explain to me several treatment options instead of simply recommending the treatment I’ve been on for years per another physicians recommendation. I truly felt like he cared about the best way to treat me condition in a way we were both comfortable with. I plan to be a long term patient here.

I gave an original review of 5 stars, saying how much Sara cared. 5 stars on her availability for sure. I could reach her any time, back when I was her patient.
At the time I was suffering from anxiety and the SSRI I was on pooped out. I was suffering, I was depressed because I wanted to feel like myself but I was in a state of panic 24/7.
I went to Sara, thinking she was an actual psychiatrist, not a nurse.
Within 45 minutes of talking to her ($250) she diagnosed me with anxiety, severe depression, ADD, PMDD, OCD and PTSD. She wanted to add 2 more anti depression meds and also a med for ADD. That would have resulted in me being on 4 psychiatric medications.
The one good thing is she ordered some labs, so that was good.
I told her I don't have ADD. She said "if you hyper focus you do" I told her I don't have OCD, she said that "if a messy house bothers you, you do" I said that's normal, she then asked me about organizing. I like to be organized, she insisted I had OCD because of that.
I left there feeling so defeated and hopeless. I did not listen to her diagnosis and didn't take the meds she prescribed.
After a lot more suffering and a second opinion by a real psychiatrist, turns out I just need to raise the dose of the med I was already on.
I didn't want to give her a bad review because she was nice and she did make herself available. But I often think, what could have happened to me if I listened to her? Would I be a drugged up zombie, or worse, locked up somewhere from taking all those mind altering meds. I can't stress enough the importance of a second opinion, it saved my life.

My daughter had been experiencing terrible anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. I found this office through my insurance, and we got an appointment with the nurse practitioner, Sara Beal, very quickly. She is kind and understanding and has helped us both tremendously. Sara has always been available any time we’ve needed her, always responds to texts and scheduled appointments immediately if we have any problem whatsoever. We’re both so relieved we found her and my daughter is already starting to feel better.

Couldn’t be happier with the care I receive from Sara Beal. She is very thorough, caring and understanding. Wanda is very kind and makes you feel comfortable whenever you call the office. It never takes long to get an appointment. I’ve recommended progressive psychiatry to so many friends and family who are also getting great results.

I’ve been seeing Ms. Sara Beal since mid-September, and I have nothing but wonderful and amazing things to say about her. She’s kind and patient, she truly cares about her patients, and I feel like we’re on a journey together to improve my mental health. Most importantly, she is honest and real with me and only has my best interest at heart. I’m fortunate to have found someone like Ms. Sara, and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Also, Ms. Wanda who answers the phone and helps with appointments and payments is a darling. She’s always so pleasant and friendly when she answers the phone and always responds to voicemails in a timely manner. I can’t give her enough credit for how amazing she is.

I really don't like going to psychiatrists but I know that it's essential for me to have a better life, but progressive psychiatry is very warm and friendly, and the staff there is wonderful, and they let you do things at your own pace they don't try to stress you out or anything like that, I personally love the place. Wanda is an amazing person and has even gone as far to answer my questions over the weekend by text, everyone there is very committed to helping people. Dr. Rad Gharavi is a kind and subtle speaker, you don't have to be afraid to tell him anything that you need to tell him. The therapist there is also a really nice guy. I'm so sorry I forgot his name I'll add it to this review though.
