I have had Type II diabetes for nearly 20 years and over the years, to varying degrees, it has been managed with medication.

I first started seeing Dr. Nye nearly 2 years ago after moving to Naples. At that time my A1C numbers were the best they had been since I was first diagnosed with diabetes and, given my age (low 60s), I thought my A1C could not get much better. However, after Dr. Nye initially reviewed my medical records, history, and evaluated my latest full blood test results, he surprised me by telling me he felt I could bring down my A1C down below the Type II A1C threshold of 6.5. I was surprised by this and admitedly I was a bit skeptical too, especially when Dr. Nye recommended I change medications. Despite my lingering doubts I went along with Dr. Nye's advice and course of treatment.

Fast forward to today and my A1C is now in the pre-diabetic range and my weight is also in a healthy range, something I didn't think was possible. It is true I had to have demonstrate a level of discipline to achieve these numbers but I credit Dr. Nye for caring enough to look past the norms and for encouraging and helping me to be even healthier.

I often find myself wondering that with my improved A1C numbers, perhaps I've added a bit more quality time to my life. It is precious time in which I can spend and be happy with my best friend and loving wife. Priceless!

Having recently moved to Naples FL full time, I thought it best to have my primary care physician located here as well.
It's not easy "divorcing" your old doctor after 25 years (that was a hard phone call!) but I asked my new, hand-picked cardiologist (shout out to Dr. Ronald Levine...a great choice) if he could recommend someone to me, and his suggestion was Dr. Andrew Nye of Prime Medical in Naples
I am forever greatful for that recommendation.
Dr. Nye has time and time again demonstrated a thoroughness in his approach, and a devotion to his patients and their care. He is accommodating to the nth degree, and spends more time listening to you than talking at you.
The office and staff are all extremely courteous and helpful...and as an owner of Prime MD, I don't have to worry that he will soon be switching practices...something very important to me...as it should be to you.
My concerns as regards finding a new doctor in this area were all addressed to my complete satisfaction. I am thrilled to have Dr. Nye as my primary care giver, and if you are not happy with your current provider, or need a new one, for any reason, you couldn't make a better, wiser decision than make Dr. Nye your primary caregiver. He is still accepting new new patients as of this writing, but as word of his care spreads, as it undoubtedly will, I doubt that will be the case for very long.

My family and I have been patients here for over a year and I can confidently say each time has been a great healthcare experience. The check in process is smooth and hassle free. The office itself is clean, organized and modern. Dr Popa (seen for primary care)and Dr Nye (seen for pediatric care) are exceptional. Each time we saw them, they took the time to listen to our concerns and answered all our questions. They are both very thorough and they provide a very personalized care. We also saw Maylin for our baby daughter’s care, she is very sweet and professional.
Overall I highly recommend Prime MD to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled family practice.

I officially became a patient of Prime MD of Naples yesterday but my family of six have all been patients since Spring of 2024. I've been in healthcare management for the greater part of 15 years and I am happy that my family and I are part of this impressive practice! It truly provides the concierge service without the cost but most importantly they treat everyone like family! I highly recommend all the providers but I'd like to highlight Maylin Lara, ARNP.. She has taken care of my family with the utmost professionalism, compassion and diligence.

I only left one star because without leaving a star I could not leave a review. If I could, I would leave NO stars. Terrible, terrible practice. Simply unbelievable. I had to call three times to get an appointment despite leaving messages requesting an appointment. No one answers the phone. Even worse, I was prescribed a medicine for an earache by Prime MD which was not covered by my insurance and would have cost $250. I asked them at least 3 times for an alternative that my insurance would cover. THEY NEVER CALLED ANYTHING IN TO THE PHARMACY. I even sent an email but they never responded. Worst practice I have ever encountered in my life. If I can't trust them to prescribe a medicine my insurance covers how can I trust them with my health. Avoid at all costs. Absolutely horrible!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new doctor. After meeting Dr. Smalley and the nurse who assisted, I am confident that I made the right choice. They made me feel at ease and comfortable during my visit. By the time I left the office I knew what appointments/follow ups that I needed to schedule this year and in subsequent years. My experience with the front desk was extremely unpleasant, with the associate making rude comments to me while checking in (hoping this will not happen again during my next appointment). Five stars for the doctor and nurse!
