While I was out of town, the week of 6 November, 2016, my wife Mary was instructed to use a wheelchair pending the outcome of an upcoming MRI and appointment with a Neurologist. With a prescription in hand, she went to the medical supply company recommended by the Dr's office. Upon arrival, she was told that it would take at least a week to obtain one, using Medicare as the insurer.
Being very disappointed, she then went to the Preferred Medical Supply office in Sierra Vista, AZ and called them from the parking lot. They came to the parking lot so she wouldn’t have to walk inside. She explained what she had been told at the other Supply company. She also explained to them that I had ordered a Mobility Chair with personal funds but it wouldn’t be delivered until the 14th of November. With that information, Preferred Medical delivered a Wheelchair to our home that afternoon. They also indicated there would be no charge and only asked that we return it on the 15th of November.
My wife is not unknown to them as she has Oxygen equipment provided by them. Having said that, their effort was, in my opinion, above and beyond.
