I have never been a patient here so can't speak to that. But what in the world is up with this "respite garden?" We've been visiting the offices next door for months and as a nurse I was psyched to see signs pointing to a "respite garden." This sad excuse for a garden is lacking plants, and has way too much trash/old scrub caps to be anything approaching restful.

Take the signs down til you get the garden planted, OMC!

On 03/03/25 I had surgery and my experience was truly excellent. All the staff that assisted me was really kind, each one of them explained to me how the process would be. I am really grateful for the attention I received. Tatiana was my nurse, she is very sweet and kind as is the rest of the staff. I am also very grateful to Dr. Bryant and his staff. I only suggest that they can improve the system of calling patients, it is supposed that the hospital staff should contact you before your appointment, in my case I never received such a call, I had to call and insist many times until I managed to get through.

My husband was in ICU for almost a week. I can’t say enough about how wonderful all the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapist and hospital staff were. Every procedure was explained thoroughly. They were all respectful and caring of my husband and our family. My husband was smoothly transferred to hospice care after a thorough discussion with the family. Our concerns were respected and addressed with care. We were never rushed and never felt that we were in the way. They made sure we had everything we needed and my husband was comfortable.

They were extremely nice and caring. I had outpatient surgery but ending having to spend the night. The staff was so friendly and the rooms were comfortable and the food was good. The anesthesiologist was so helpful they explained in detail of why my nerve block did not go well the 1st time of my surgery appointment which was canceled. I would recommend this hospital for your needs

Here is our story. My husband has stage 4 cancer that has spread from his appendix to his colon and lungs. He’s gone through surgery, chemotherapy twice, and radiation. Four weeks ago, his oncologist suggested immunotherapy. However, this treatment caused his salivary glands to produce an overwhelming amount of saliva, leading to choking, coughing, gagging, and eventually blocking his airway. He struggled to get enough oxygen, making it hard for him to speak or walk. He reached the point where he had to text to communicate.

In response, we went to Oviedo Medical Center ER. A female PA came in and ordered some tests, including a chest X-ray. When she returned, she told us everything looked normal and he could go home. She didn’t seem concerned with his specific needs, focusing only on routine basics and then moving on. When I looked at his oxygen levels (see image) and asked to speak to a doctor, she replied, “I see all the patients.”

Eventually, a doctor came in, reviewed his condition, and noticed my husband was in distress. She decided to admit him to the hospital.

The doctor explained, “At Oviedo Medical Center ER, policy dictates that patients may be seen by a PA or a doctor.” Based on our experience, Oviedo Medical Center ER feels more like a basic urgent care or band-aid clinic. If you are in serious distress, I’d recommend going to Advent ER on Red Bug Road, or if transported, ask to go to Rollins Advent hospital. Take control of your care—don’t be misled by claims of quality care if they don’t match your experience. Oviedo Medical Center ER seems to lack something essential in terms of medical care, lagging behind other hospitals in quality.

Update: Once admitted to the hospital it appears they are working hard to help resolve my husband’s issues. The food is delicious and the hospital nursing staff care staff and the floor doctors seem to really care. They even contacted his oncologist to conference with her.

I was very Grateful for All of the help that I received. Everyone was very helpful & kind & responsible & respectful! I felt cared for & taken care of in everything that I needed! When I left I had a peacefulness from the way that they made sure that they had checked on all that I needed to make it through to a good healing from all that was causing my pain & illness! I had gastric bypass surgery on January 23, 2025. From the moment I was escorted to the prep area to the moment I was escorted to my mom's car upon my discharge, I received nothing less than exceptional care and service. Every step of the way, I was told what was happening and what to expect.
The nursing staff on the 3rd floor was as excellent as one could ever ask for if having a hospital stay. My nurses, Sarah and Traci were my favorites of all the nurses who took care of me. While all were wonderful, Traci and Sarah provided a level of care that exceeded any expectations one could possibly have. Care Tech Sterlin...well...I don't think words could come close to describing what a wonderful person he is. He is in med school and he's got traits and qualities that cannot be taught in school. I am extremely confident that he will make an EXCELLENT doctor in whatever specialty he chooses.
If I ever needed to be hospitality for any reason, I would definitely be confident in getting top notch care at Oviedo Medical Center.

Excellent patient care. Staff is friendly, attentive, and compassionate. Facility follow-up assistance to help ensure continued care is a refreshing bonus. I don't feel like just a number for them.
