If you don't use the Omada scale every day they will report you as inactive. Then your insurance company says you aren't meeting the requirements to get your medication. However, if my doctor says the medication is working and says it necessary, they don't care about that... It's awesome how people with no medical training or skills, get to make your medication decision. But seeing the same doctor your entire life, has no say. They are just another mountain in the US medical system, that everyday people have to climb to get treatment.

The Omada program feels like a scam orchestrated by health insurance companies to deceive individuals and divert them from receiving necessary medications. After being required to sign up for this program by my prescription insurance, I had high hopes for a supportive, tech-forward solution to aid in my weight loss journey. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.

First, the app itself is woefully lacking in functionality. It doesn’t interface with popular fitness watches or trackers, which makes tracking progress cumbersome for anyone who relies on these devices for monitoring activity and health metrics. For a program supposedly designed to help people manage their health, this is a glaring omission.

Second, Omada appears to prioritize compliance metrics over real results. The lack of transparency and genuine support leaves users feeling like they’re just jumping through hoops to satisfy insurance requirements, rather than working toward meaningful health goals. It becomes clear that the program's primary purpose is to stall or avoid providing access to necessary medications under the guise of "lifestyle changes."

In short, Omada is an ineffective and frustrating program that offers little value to users. It’s disappointing to see health insurance companies relying on such deceptive tactics instead of supporting individuals with the tools and medications they truly need.

My Company Uses Omada, so I signed up because I need to lose some weight. My Health Coach, Carly is great! If I don't lose weight it's because of me... She is very helpful, very responsive, encouraging and gives ideas. I just have to get off my butt, eat better and lose the weight... I've been using Omada for a month or so. I love it so far! Wonderful app and Great Health Coach!
After reading some of the reviews, it looks like some people are forced to use something like Omada for work or for insurance discounts. I worked for a company that did that, and it was frustrating, you already don't like the company because you are being forced to use them. I don't recall the name of the company I have to used to use, but wasn't fond of them, but it was probably because I started off not liking them because I was forced to do it. It makes a huge difference when you have to do it vs when it's completely optional. I love that my company makes it optional, so that I'm here because I want to be, so we don't start off with walls I've built and disliking them and distrusting them up front.

I also was forced to sign up for Omada to qualify for my weight loss medication through Express Scripts. I registered today and tried calling just to ask questions. Once I select the option to speak to someone, the line immediately disconnects.

Definitely not off to a good start. I see this process further delaying me getting my medication which I'm sure that's what it was designed to do. So frustrating.

Got an email saying that my account was getting shut down in a month back in October 2024, emailed support to ask what was needed to keep the account active since it's the same insurance plan. Never heard back from them on any channels and now my account is locked and I can't sign back up. Fun

Oh wow..! Now im even more concerned!!!
I came here to see if people had better experience than me, starting 01/2025, Ive been forced to enroll so that my GLP-1 that I have been on for few months with no issues gets approved, Im due for my following dose but the insurance is not approving the prescription, most likely waiting on Omada to respond to my application, completed 01/03!! THIS TOTALLY DELAYED AND MESSES UP MY GLP-1 schedule.. I reached to them and they directed me to the same email I see they’re advising people here to “reach out for help” sigh*.. I obviously have a medical condition and was prescribed by MY DOCTOR for THAT REASON.. I feel hopeless!!😒😖

UPDATE:
I wanted to come back to let you all know someone from Omada reached out a couple weeks after this, they finally figured that my application and follow up questioning/responses were overlooked from their end and was approved a couple days after- I was able to get my medication. -3 weeks late- but I have it, luckily I didn’t have to start all way from the beginning

I have had a wonderful experience with Omada. Omada comes as a package with my Cigna Heath Insurance. My Coach Patricia has been a major support in my life when is comes to making healthy lifestyle changes. I enjoy posting pictures of my healthy meals and snacks to her. She has been gentle and kind with me and has not a food police. I will continue with this program as long as possible to reach my health goals. If you are looking for a great wellness plan, Omada is the one to give a try. Send me good vibes because I am trying to convince my husband to try Omada! It is a great program and so many options on the portal.
Thanks Coach Patricia!!

Forced into this by insurance company. Delayed responses and action make it impossible to receive the care your DOCTOR prescribes.

Update: I had to enroll in the program. Been enrolled for 2+ weeks, but not assigned to a group yet which means I can’t fill the requirements of my insurance company. Customer service NON EXISTENT and offers no help. If you can avoid-do so.
