The therapist was ok. But the way they deal with billing is much more like debt-collectors than a medical facility. They charge people 24 hours in advance of the session and charge a $165 for cancellation. This is supposed to be a place where people are allowed to make mistakes, but close to %100 penalty for missing an appointment is ridicules. I'm not going back.

Save your time, money and emotional bandwidth and don’t start treatment at OKAY Humans

I was a client at OKAY Humans for 9 months and my experience was incredibly disappointing.

At first, I was really bought in to their concept… using trendy marketing and a minimalistic space to make therapy seem welcoming and accessible. But the sad reality is that they use those tools to mask a money-hungry business that prioritizes profit over care at every turn.

My specific therapist was wonderful (which is why I even stayed 9 months) but she was also restricted by the center in how she could manage her clientele. OKAY Humans does not allow you to be in contact with your therapist outside of your 45min session time— including any scheduling changes. Instead, you have to funnel all communication through the front desk and anonymous texts which feels unbelievably cold and in some cases even inappropriate when sharing sensitive information.

Overall my experience at OKAY Humans is that they use junior therapists to execute their agenda of high-volume/high-turnaround, unpersonalized care. Which is a real shame since I really do believe that the clinicians themselves are supportive, talented individuals who could help a lot of people!

I am posting this review anonomously for safety reasons however as they used to say in the show Dragnet: "The story you are about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent"

I was stuck in a very abusive and dangerous situation with someone I lived with at home. It was the worst experience I have ever gone through in my entire life: Unable to find a way to get out/away from this person for 5 very long years, I would come home every day wondering if it would be my last day on earth. My abuser often bragged about his unregistered hand guns. He loved to emphasize how he filed off the serial numbers of certain guns he kept in his room and that he had personally made other modifications which he *always* bragged about making them 'untraceable'.

My situation was very dire and but for the grace of god I was able to get myself out of the situation. While I was eventually able to escape his torment, the path to my freedom left me with no money ($25k in debt), no job and a whole host of mental health problems that made functioning like a regular person in day-to-day activities impossible.

I was somehow able to scrounge enough money that I could pay for modestly priced sessions out of pocket so I began to look for help I could afford. I searched for *months* researching and calling around only to find out, as was often the case, that many therapists and clinics in my price range were not taking on any new clients. Those who were willing to take me on I often felt had complicated 'intake' processes to muscle through and after all the complicated paperwork was filled out, I then had to wait long wait times of days or weeks to be seen. The worst was, for me, when I finally get to meet my therapist - many of whom had impressive degrees and credentials - only to tell them what had happened and be ignored or in some cases being told that what I went through was 'not that bad'.

I was genuinely beginning to lose all hope - that is until I finally found Okay-Humans.

The intake process was easy and the front desk staff were extremely attentive and the most helpful I have experienced in any clinic. For reasons of privacy I won't give out names (I wish I could) but I'll just say that the first person at the front desk did a phenominal job of listening to my needs and explained to me in clear, easy to understand words why she was recommending a specific therapist at their clinic for me. After my first session I had some basic follow up questions, so I called and spoke to a second front desk person who, just like the first person I spoke to, took the time to answer all my questions clearly and with care.

Finally, I admit that I have only so far gone through a 30 minute 'get to know you' call followed by my first session (which they squeezed me in same day which was really nice). It is perhaps valid criticism that this review may be pre-mature, but from the moment I walked through the door of their clinic to the end of my first session - what I just really appreciate more than anything - is that I felt like I was talking to people who actually CARE.

I have only been to 1 session so far that is true, but the quality of care at this clinic is, in my experience, the absolute best.

*THANK YOU* TO EVERYONE AT THE OKAY-HUMANS CLINIC!

I definitely recommend giving this clinic a try 6/5 stars if I could.

Best,
- A new and very happy client.

The therapists are not experienced at all, after speaking with one of the therapist my husband became more verbally and emotionally abusive. I am not sure what she told him probably said that he needed to have his feeling validated and take care of him self first but without hearing all sides of the story I don’t think she knows that this means that he is swearing all kinds of profanity at me infront of my daughter and calling me stupid all the time. This is very irresponsible! We tried some other place prior but gave this place a try but that is the biggest mistake ever!

Easy and seamless experience making appointments, dealing with administrative things (billing, payments, etc) and great clinical staff here. Nice and clean facility. Their well executed brand doesn’t hurt either. Highly recommend!
