Dr. Oas changed my life! Dr. Oas changed my family's life! We have been seeing him for well over a decade now. Sure, I've read others' reviews and understand the complaints, but the truth is, Dr. Oas is right and his technique is simple. "Thinking is cool!" It's brilliant. He's brilliant! Want proof? All three of my children graduated high school with honors and have gone onto college to do the same. I run a successful business and remain in a happy marriage! Thank you Dr. Oas. Thank you for teaching us to always be thinking "Am I doing the right thing?"

If I could put a negative star here I absolutely would and now that I have had time to read through all these reviews I would have insisted that Vocational Rehab send my boyfriend to a different doctor. My boyfriend was a marine combat vet and he suffers from extreme PTSD when we got the written evaluation back I was blown away by the absolute disrespect he showed my veteran and the blatant lies he told. He said my boyfriend obtained a TBI from falling off of a top bunk bed which is a lie and can easily be proven in his medical records which states that he received it from severe abuse he received in his childhood. He said he doesn’t do good around people and has no friends and is currently not dating anyone because he doesn’t how to be in relationships…all of this is a lie. He has friends, he is very active at church, and we’ve been in a relationship for quite a while and he does just fine. Then it said the he self medicates which is a lie. The two medications he claims he is using to self medicates are not he prescribed to him. He has tried a bunch of other things and this is what he and his doctors of over 10 years feel works best for him. Then he said that he has not held down a job since 2011 which is not true. He owned two different body shops. He said he has no ambition…again would you say that going to Vocational Rehab shows zero ambition? Why is this man still practicing? And tell me why is he being used to determine if people are capable enough to do a job when he clearly can’t do his own. I have talked to some friends in the medical and legal fields and they say this is not only defamation of character but it is also malpractice. We have already contacted some lawyers and will be taking legal action. I do not want that in his medical chart. I’m praying that Vocational Rehab will throw that one out and do a new one. Even though this doesn’t hurt the chances of what he wants to do it is not okay to file something in his records that is such a bold and blatant lie. You should be ashamed of yourself Peter Osa. You are a fraud and should have your licenses revoked.

As many others have said, this man is not fit to be a therapist, and my current therapist questions how he can even keep his job and PHD. I'm still processing a lot of trauma that was caused to me by Oas, and I hope that anyone who reads these reviews finds someone who won't traumatize them or their children.

I'm leaving this review 18 years late because I was a child when the abuse occurred.

I saw Oas when I was 13. I was there, against my will, for symptoms of anxiety and depression. He was not a safe person to talk to, and did not believe in confidentiality. He told my parents everything I said, which made my home life even more difficult. When I got fed up with his behavior, I refused to speak at my next appointment. In response, he pulled out a paddle and threatened to beat me until I told him what he wanted to hear.

Don't take your children to this man. I'm 31 now and still can't bring myself to see a therapist due to the trauma he personally caused me.

One star is a star too many.
I’m writing this approximately 15 years later, once a patient of Dr. Peter Oas. I don’t remember a single name of other therapists I had in my childhood, but I’ll never forget this man’s name. Ever.
This sorry excuse for a human never once cared about children and justified toxic approaches for handling behaviors in households. He made me sit still with my hands in my lap, only speak once spoken to, and have direct eye contact when speaking to someone. He believed in the degradation of children for SURE. Non-compliance to any of the above resulted in being threatened with a paddle, pinched, or humiliation. I don’t understand how this man didn’t end up on a public list if you catch my drift. He may have “solved” problems for my parent by creating fear-based compliance, but I’ve been living with years of therapy-related trauma and resentment toward my parent for idolizing this abuser. At MINIMUM this man needs his medical license revoked.
I’m sure if you’re an abusive parent who feels you have no part in your child’s behavior, and hope for a therapist who degrades your and blames your child for everything, he’s the one for you. However, if you’re looking for a compassionate therapist to work with your family, RUN.

I can’t see how he is still in business. I went to him, and tried it out. The entire time, he’d just sit there and listen. There was maybe 1/2 of a conversation in my month or so of going here. I moved, making me unable to attend appointments. When my landlord sent an ESA form (just confirmation of a script he’d written!) he said he hadn’t seen me in over a year (which was a lie). Hopefully he’ll take his L and accept he’s not cut from the therapist cloth.

What a P.O.S.! Needs to have a negative star rating.

Peter Oas needs to have his medical licenses stripped and needs to be not allowed to practice anywhere. I was forced to go to this office by the VA for a review. As soon as the door closed, he became a terrible person. He became pushy and demanding, then he threatened to write a review on me saying I did not have anything wrong with me, if I didn't tell him what he wanted to hear. It was so bad I almost made a terrible choice to not make it home that day. He made good on his promise, and now I have to deal with the VA trying to reduce me from a 100% disability rating to a 50% disability rating. Peter Oas is a bad and dishonest person.
*Update as of 28 June 2023*
Based off this completely unprofessional appointment, I'm officially going to be dropped to 30% unless I respond in 15 days, and if I don't have an attorney that I can't afford my rebuttal will most likely be ignored. This means I'll lose medical coverage for the problems my time in the service caused me.

I was scheduled to complete an appointment by Dr. Oas for a VA claim. I should have read the reviews before accepting an appointment with him. Dr. Oas showed up to my appointment without reviewing any of my records and clueless to my contentions. He asked a series of broad questions. Shortly into my appointment he answered his phone and was discussing another veteran's case, with me just there listening. It was extremely unprofessional. Needless to say, Dr. Oas failed to provide me the appointment experience I was deserved. He failed to accurately document my issues and I have made a formal complaint to the VA regarding his services (or lack there of). This is obviously a money grab for him. My appointment was scheduled for 150 minutes and we took 18. He was in a rush to get off the video call and didn't provide me the opportunity to discuss my issues. It was evident he thought I was wasting his time.

If you are scheduled to complete a VA exam with this doctor, do yourself a favor and reschedule.
