I've never dealt with a VA hospital before, and so didn't know what to expect when my father started using their services. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with what we've experienced.

In addition to the very satisfactory medical care he received, another thing that was impressive was the respect with which they treat the veterans. I saw this not only with my father, but with others who I saw in the halls during our visits to their ER and other offices. You could tell that the care they gave sprung from appreciation for their service.

Both the doctors and the nurses were always there for us when we needed them. They both made house calls and the nurses were there for us 24/7-- even for emergency house calls in the wee hours of the night/morning.

Everything we experienced in our years of interactions with the VA left me with a feeling that socialized medicine could indeed work if done properly. That's not meant to be a political statement, but just an observation of truly good service coming from a government-run agency.

My dad recently passed away, so I really want to thank the Northport VA for their service to him. It made a big difference to him and those of us caring for him. I don't know what we would have done without them.

I had a rough initial introduction due to scheduling issues, however I was absolutely taken care of here at this VA facility. The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! Thanks for all the work you do for our veterans!

Glad to hear and see others taken care of the way they deserve!

Keep up the phenomenal work!

Incompetence beyond belief! The Audiology department was literally unreachable for two days. I received new hearing aids the other day. One of the earmolds refused to stay in my ear. I attempted to reach the Audiology department by phone which turned out to be a exercise in futility. Reluctantly, after 30 minutes of being on hold for a receptionist I ended the call. When I finally was able to speak with someone I was told that the calls enter a queue and therefore you must wait. It was explained to me by the receptionist, who is alone in this department, that she sometimes can spend 20 minutes on one call. Queued calls can wait indefinitely! This is inappropriate for veterans who have little time left to begin with. All calls should be registered and counted. If additional resources are needed let them be provided. We have to improve a broken system for the sake of our veterans.

I am a disabled veteran. The healthcare I receive here is beyond reproach. Are they perfect? Is there any human being besides Jesus Christ who is? No, but I believe they strive to be better and better every day. There is every reason to tell them how appreciated they are.

Every time I have called them it has been a major project to get to talk to someone. Nothing but a run around. Fortunately I am retired military and don't have to use VA as primary healthcare.

Highly unorganized and bare minimum diligence and sometimes lack thereof for veterans. Only had very positive experiences with podiatry department and Vanessa Brown. My primary physician here and people who work over the phone are incredibly irresponsible and lack work ethic and never at office. Told them multiple times the physical therapy department are not accepting calls on a daily bases yet they keep connecting me to them anyways with no resolution. I feel bad for any other veterans who need to go through these unacceptable conditions.

One of the best VA's I've been to or visited. They are always very good to me.
