If I could give this place negative stars, I would giddily do so. While the techs were fantastic and actually cared that they were watching over human beings, everyone above them acted as though their patients were nuisances rather than people with illnesses.

Not only did I get to experience going cold turkey off of my medication (extremely dangerous), the nurse told my family member I was “not okay” because I was having a panic attack, whilst leaving out the detail that they refused to provide my psychiatrist’s prescribed medication. It took over 72 hours to speak with a doctor (which only happened because I signed a release form mandating they speak to me within 24 hours), and on my fifth day, the second psychiatrist asked why I was still there and immediately discharged me. Further, I made over four different attempts to get my records, but no matter how many voicemails I leave, I never hear back.

If you want to lock yourself up for 5+ days with a psychiatrist who tells you (a voluntary patient to the nonviolent wing) that you’re lying about your medical history, nurses who obfuscate the truth about your condition, and provide minimal therapy at best, then this is the perfect place to go.

Horrible experience. This place scams you out of your money. You will talk to no doctors while you’re there. I wasn’t one of the severe patients. But I left way worse than I came. They will run you insane waiting for you to crash out so they can keep you longer. They make you take medication you have no clue what it is, and if you don’t you’ll stay longer. They take full effect of you in the fear of keeping you longer. I was there a few months ago I just had a dream about it so I thought I’d leave a review. The blanket is like dollar store toilet paper and the ac is at a sweet 62°. The only thing this place did for me is show me that if I’m ever feeling like that again to not reach out in fear of going back there.

The team goes above and beyond to ensure patients receive personalized care tailored to their unique needs. The programs are structured, effective, and designed to promote long-term healing and recovery. It’s clear that the staff genuinely care about their patients’ well-being and work tirelessly to support families during challenging times.

This facility should be investigated by state and federal officials. My mother, who has dementia, was sent here by the memory care unit of her living facility because she was having aggressive episodes that result from dementia. Never ever heard a response to my multiple requests to have doctors at this Behavioral Hospital contact me. They transferred her to Bay Care just an hour ago. Never knew what they did at Northern Tampa Behavioral other than charge her Medicare and Tricare insurers. These people are the worst.

This place is so unorganized and unprofessional. Our loved one has been in this place for 3 days and still we have not yet found out what’s the doctor evaluation . The front desk lady said the just started going paperless, with that being said the doctor still has yet uploaded his notes to “the cloud” (computer) . For 3days. Our loved one is not being treated correctly in This facility, she’s not eating properly nor getting fluid in her body. When we went to visit her her wrist band has a doctors name on it that is no longer even working at this place . They have her sitting in a wheel chair all day long without any support for her legs. Which are swollen now. She’s urinated on herself because a staff would not help her to the restroom. You hit a dead end with any questions you have concerning the “patient”. This place is horrible.

I can’t thank the staff enough, from Dr. Young to Ms. Carol to each and every person I came in contact with. Admissions personnel made me feel comfortable went I first got there. When I got to my room, the staff were all helpful in getting me everything I needed. I had meetings one on one with doctors and therapists and group meetings. I gained a lot of knowledge and tools to help me in managing stress and triggers that were setting me off. I felt respected and well taken care of. The doctors and therapists take the time to talk to you and get to know you which really helped my situation. I would choose this Center again and again. Hopefully, I won’t have to. I have made a full recovery and have No. Tampa Behavioral Center.

I am writing to express my extreme frustration with the treatment my minor niece has received at your facility. She has now been held for over 72 hours without being appropriately evaluated or being placed under a Baker Act, which is not only concerning but a clear violation of protocol. This facility’s handling of the situation has been nothing short of unprofessional.

It has become evident that children with good insurance are being held for extended periods, despite being of sound mind, which raises serious ethical concerns. The lack of communication has been appalling; staff members have repeatedly hung up on our family, and during one incident, we overheard nurses using inappropriate language, calling us offensive names and making derogatory comments about our concerns. Furthermore, we were explicitly told that next time we inquire, we will be told my niece is not even there.

This behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly urge anyone to avoid sending loved ones to this facility. The treatment we have received is a clear reflection of the negligence and lack of professionalism within your establishment. Please take immediate action to address these serious issues.

I had a loved one in here and he said the food was so disgusting he couldn’t eat it and lost 25lbs while he was there for 2 weeks. The hospital held him far longer than needed to run out his insurance. They want money, they don’t want to help. The staff is cruel and uncaring and do not treat patients with dignity. He was treated like he more a prisoner than a patient. The only reason they let him go is because I got a lawyer.
