I recently visited North Okaloosa Medical Center and had a mostly positive experience, despite a few minor issues. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with kindness and professionalism by most of the staff. The physician, nurses, ER Tech, and radiology team were all wonderful. They were attentive, compassionate, and made sure I was informed every step of the way. My diagnosis wasn’t the best, but the care I received made a difficult situation much more bearable.

One area that could use improvement was the nurse in triage, who seemed a bit irritated. Her demeanor wasn’t as welcoming as the rest of the staff, which was a bit off-putting, especially at the beginning of the visit. However, this was a small hiccup in an otherwise positive experience.

I was also disappointed that the vending machines weren’t functioning properly, but ER Tech Joseph went above and beyond by bringing my spouse and daughter cold bottles of water, which was a kind and thoughtful gesture.

A special thank you to Katie, Bill, Callie and Maria for the compassionate care you provided. Your kindness didn’t go unnoticed, and you truly made me feel like I was in good hands. Thank you for caring with your hearts – it made all the difference in my visit.

We just had our second baby a week ago and decided to use Dr. Coates at North Okaloosa Medical Center! We are so impressed and had a great birthing experience compared to the other local hospital we had previously chosen. Nurses had great communication with each other. We loved nurse Anne and Brandi, each introducing the other at the start of their shifts which I appreciate! They were prompt with any questions we had and explained each process of the birthing and postpartum / baby care procedures. The head of the department also came by to check in multiple times, even was hands on with her staff to help welcome baby boy into the world! We highly recommend this hospital.

The nurses who work in the labor and delivery department deserve all the praise! I had a wonderful experience having my first baby, especially nurse Alley and nurse Leanne!! They’re incredibly kind and attentive and if I were to have another baby I would want them around every time! I also got the kindest card in the mail that they all signed and that meant the world to me! ❤️

Reading these reviews makes me wonder, where were all these good nurses at, when my mom was admitted into the hospital just a couple days ago and released...No one should ever feel afraid to go to the hospital cause of the care they may receive & it's even more sad, that they feel they have to go to Niceville or any other place. During my mom stay, the nurses are good at the beginning but it's like they get tired of doing a job, that they get paid to do & if this is not the job for you, then why do it? The problem I have, is my mom was diagnosed with the flu and she wet herself twice, she's 75 years old & moves around slowly and sometimes she stumbles. Do, you know the nurses knew my mom was wet and put her back in the bed with wet, pissy clothes on and told her they would be back, to help her put on a dry gown but never, ever came back, wow. Thanks to her friend for coming up and helping her get out of the wet clothes, into some dry clothes. This is so unacceptable to me because why would you leave a flu patient wet? It would have took only a few minutes to help her into some dry clothing. I understand it gets busy, may even be short staffed but would you leave your own mom wet? It's sad how these nurses or CNA's get away with stuff, it's time to get names and start calling higher authority. I live in Texas but god forbid had I rolled up and my mom was in a bed wet cause all hell would have broke loose. Quit taking these jobs for the pay and not the compassion of taking care of people. I wish she had of told me this while she was wet cause I would have called up there and told them, to get my mom out of those wet clothes. that's not even sanitary putting a wet patient back into the bed on clean sheets....Better take these jobs more seriously before they don't have one or end up with a lawsuit....

I am so thankful for NOMC’s Labor and Delivery staff that supported me during my labor, delivery, and postpartum. I had wonderful care from the start and through the my whole stay until discharge. During my stay the nurses Brandi, Courtney, Leann, Dakeya, Katlyn, Marcella, Katrina and Ann were wonderful! They always explained what all the options were and what the plan of care was for the shift. I never felt uninvolved in my care among the nurses and Drs. I highly recommend NOMC’s Labor and delivery unit!

I recently had an exceptional experience at North Okaloosa Medical Center, and I felt compelled to share just how professional, comforting, and helpful the staff were. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The reception staff were efficient and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease.

Throughout my visit, every staff member I interacted with demonstrated a high level of professionalism and care. The nurses were not only skilled and knowledgeable, but also showed genuine compassion and concern for my well-being. They took the time to explain procedures and answer all of my questions, ensuring I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way.

The doctors at North Okaloosa Medical Center were equally impressive. Their expertise was evident, and their reassuring demeanor made a potentially stressful situation much more manageable. They provided clear and thorough explanations of my treatment options, allowing me to make well-informed decisions about my care.

Overall, my experience at North Okaloosa Medical Center was outstanding. The entire team—from reception to nursing staff and doctors—worked together seamlessly to provide top-notch medical care. One of the best ER experiences I have had. We were taken back almost immediately. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and explained to us what was happening with every test. I hope my wife never needs an ER again, but if she does , this is where we will go.

Never receive a request for a survey so I came here to write my review. Let me just start with how I'd been here a couple times before labor due to early contractions. Even then I was treated so well, the nurses are all so sweet and caring you can't help but feel so comfortable and secure. And when it was time for labor these same nurses and my OB Dr. Hamby worked with tremendously wonderful effort. They were all so patient and even saved me from possibly having to get a c-section. Their diligence and attentiveness made my labor and recovery absolutely heavenly, tending to me and my newborn son as if we were royalty. I felt so comfortable enough to even let them watch my son while me and my husband got much needed sleep, and that says a lot because I am very over-protective. My nurses that I adore and would request if I have another baby are Nurse. Jenny, Nurse. Sarah, and Nurse. Ally. And again a shout out to my delivery doctor, OBGYN Dr. Hamby. They all made my experience outstandingly great, so great that my one-and-done turned into a one-and-some. To clarify that labor and recovery in the hospital wasn't perfect as I had worrisome extensive bleeding during labor and a mental breakdown/panic due to shock and baby blues after labor. With these unfortunate and traumatic situations every nurse and doctor made it able to be endured. By being patient during the labor( Dr. Hamby, Nurse Sarah, and Nurse Jenny) and talking with me personally after labor to ease my mental state( Nurse Ally). I had a small tear that only required one stitch on the inside and I thank that to me being sure to do yoga and drink raspberry leaf tea+eat dates during pregnancy and my nurses and OB’s patience with making sure I only pushed during contractions, and carefully assisting the baby out near the end of labor. So all in all I would give this hostpital a A+ and might even be back in the next year or so for baby number 2!
