I’d give zero stars if it allowed. We moved here last year and we had to find a new pediatrician for our son and brand new baby. My husband, son and I had Hills physicians prior and chose a doctor in Folsom who accepted Hills. We spoke to our insurance and asked for this doctor through Hills. Somehow we were given Nivano for our kids. We needed to get them seen, so we left it as is. HUGE mistake. For some reason bills between the doctors office and Nivano aren’t getting paid consistently for either child. I’ve spent the last YEAR trying to get it resolved and still there are unpaid claims. Now our kids can’t go to the doctor because they’ve been unpaid for so long. Our insurance comes out of my husbands paychecks every month and there hasn’t been any lapse in coverage. We pay so much every month for insurance, this is maddening. I’ve spoken to both the doctors office and Nivano so many times, I don’t know what else to do. Our doctors office had told us in the beginning that they sometimes have problems with Nivano, but I had no idea it would be like this.

Brian was the Customer Service Representative helping me and he did an exemplary job of assisting me with three different issues which I have been trying to get resolved for several months. He was very kind, patient and knowledgeable and provided answers and solutions to my issues which were resolved. It’s not often people today are so kind, patient and willing to go the extra mile to help solution a problem let alone three problems and Brian was definitely that individual. I also have had positive experiences with other customer service representatives when I’ve called and found them to be polite and helpful as well.

Spoke with Mary B. today. She was so helpful and informative! She has made this entire process much calmer and assured me the issue at hand would be resolved promptly. When one has neoplasms of uncertain origin, and cancer must be ruled in or out, it is so nice to find people that are not only courteous but go the extra mile to help and calm the waters! Thank you Mary! Nivano has always been very good , but Mary has helped make things easier for patients. She truly cares. What a reflection on the company as a whole!

I am so thankful for the patience and kindness that Mary B. had with me and my needs. The process of getting a referral to a specialist was so hard and I was stuck in the middle for almost 5 months. After being bounced back in forth between doctors offices and representatives I am finally getting the help I need. I really think that some people just do the basics of their job but others like Mary take time to ensure that we are not overlooked. She documented every single one of my calls to Nivano and the doctors offices and even spoke to the medical provider to finally get my referral sent over correctly. Thank you Mary for checking in with me and easing some of the stress I’ve been feeling through this process.

I had to work with Nivano Physicians recently for a medical authorization for a life saving device. Mary B. helped me navigate a complex authorization process with perfect professionalism. She was responsive and informative, friendly without being overly familiar. She was clearly knowledgeable in the Nivano processes and explained them to me concisely. I sincerely wish all health insurances had staff like Mary B. in their UM departments. She made a tedious process run smoothly and I so appreciate her! Thank you Mary B.

i spoke with Mary B today and after been given the run around for almost a week with the doctor that i was assigned to, she was very helpful. we were disconnected and she made sure to call me back until she got me back on the phone and handled my issue and i finally was schedule a appointment! I went to the emergency room at UC Davis in late-June with extreme intestinal pain. After exams, tests, and scans, they found I had colon cancer. I was released from the hospital after a couple weeks with detailed instructions on how to continue my care at home. Everything was going well. When I was finally healthy enough to see an oncologist, the referrals stopped getting approved.

My insurance provider at the time (Molina Healthcare) said Nivano was the one that needed to approve everything, so I contacted them to try to figure out what was happening. I finally figured out it was, in fact, Molina that was the problem (a process that took around a month, all by itself) and immediately initiated the change to a new insurance provider. That change took around another month, but the referrals were resubmitted and both Nivano and Anthem Blue Cross (my new insurance provider who happens to also work with Nivano) did everything they needed to get everything approved... all in about a week. The unfortunate part is, because of all the delays, treatments like chemotherapy and radiation are no longer viable options.

I lost track of how many times I contacted Nivano during this whole ordeal, but every single time I received great service. Everyone I talked to was kind, caring, compassionate, and, above all, helpful. Every. Single. Time. In my opinion, they are the model of what every customer service department SHOULD be. Having worked in customer service for many years, myself, I fully appreciate everything they did for me.

To Kim, Brian, Notsumi, and the rest of the Nivano team, "Thank you" is not enough to express my gratitude. Still... thank you for sticking with me and seeing this through. Thank you for wading through all the red tape, bureaucracy, and frustration I KNOW you faced. I can only hope this review serves to help you get the positive recognition you so obviously deserve.

I am brand new to this group that oversees my Primary Care. Health care can be very confusing but I was lucky enough to have Mary B. from Nivano Physicians help me. She did an excellent job of walking me through the necessary steps and helping me with my insurance. Hats off Mary B. You are awesome.
