It really upsets me to give this place one star. I've been a patient there for 2.5 years here and at the St. Petersburg clinic for 4 rounds of TMS (well, mostly... See below...), CBT therapy for over a year, most recently Spravato.

Pros:
* Aleia is a great therapist.
* The current front desk staff at the clinic are warm, friendly, and accommodating. I have absolutely no issues with them (despite what they may think)
* Good drinks

But, obviously, this is a one star review. Let's begin my saying that I have been fired from the practice for, in their words, excessive no shows. I have been a patient for almost 3 years and have almost never had a no show. Neurospa has an extremely strict no show policy, you get one no show IN THE LIFETIME OF YOUR TIME IN THE CLINIC, and it is 50 dollars after that. So, even though I've been there for 3 years I get one no show and never another. Obviously that's insane because, shit happens, but I've tried to look past it because of the pros stated above.

Here are all of the recent excessive no shows they are claiming (that I can recall) :

* I called to say I was sick and couldn't come in because I was coughing and sneezing and asked if it was an issue, they said no problem then sent a bill 2 days later
* One missed telehealth CBT appointment in a year because I misheard her when she said the time
* Missed appointment after I was hit by a car on the way there (provided proof)
* And most recently and egregiously: My reccuring appointment was booked at the wrong time without my knowledge and I was sent a bill

Understand that I have been there almost EVERY DAY for MONTHS between TMS and Spravato so this out of MANY appointments.

So, when most recently my reccuring appointment was booked at the wrong time without my knowledge and I was sent a bill. I was obviously upset not only by the bill but that I wouldn't be able to go to my appointment. I called and asked the receptionist about it they accepted no blame, saying it was my responsibility And I should have seen the notification before my appointment. Why would I expect you to set the time wrong? Why is that my responsibility?

Also, to note, they have cancelled on me twice less than an hour before my appointment. One when I was on the way there.

Now I have technically not yet finished my TMS (they just changed my protocol because I wasn't responding well and I got to go in a grand total of one time with the new protocol). Luckily, I've seen the writing on the wall with bad management and have a backup in place for my treatment (besides CBT) so I'm somewhat covered.

Also worth noting, in case they respond, I was also fired for "being rude to staff" which I don't know what they mean....I don't really have an issue with the front desk staff and have tried my best to be friendly. Perhaps I am a bit emphatic when I am upset and that can be misconstrued as anger (like I said, I liked the therapist...we did good work...) ....I apologize if i was rude and again have no issues with staff. That being said this is a mental health clinic and I have not been over the top or insulting, I feel as though they should be able to deal with this.

Also worth noting, prior to this, years ago,.I had major issues with an extremely rude front desk staff who even the management acknowledged was a problem with other patients. She refused to check on my as I was strapped into the machine and wouldn't properly get everything ready beforehand (adjustments, etc). Extremely bad attitude rolling her eyes and making rude comments. This was impacting my treatment directly. They didn't want to fire her so they let her take 2 weeks to quit and told me I just should wait for her to quit to resume treatment

This whole morning has been a wreck. Getting someone to administer a drug is easy but Losing my therapist is really hard. Especially with literally no notice (they fired me at the exact time of my therapy appointment, to the minute). Really unprofessional. BEWARE. Apparently there is new management, could explain the worsening culture.

Having had no previous knowledge, or experience, with TMS I was initially a bit reluctant to enter into the program. I must say that the very knowledgeable, and very pleasant staff at the Neurospa clinic in Lakewood Ranch made my experience(s) quite pleasant, to the point that I quickly began to look forward, with great anticipation, to my 36 trips from Longboat Key to Lakewood Ranch (that’s something I never thought I’d say) 😆. Kudos to your LWR Neurospa staff, and many thanks for the unique, yet quite pleasant experience. I’ll recommend them highly.

I cannot recommend Neurospa highly enough! Their compassionate and caring nature makes me feel truly supported throughout my journey. The ease of access to case management, scheduling, and getting support at times of need is exceptional. In just 3 weeks I have already noticed a huge shift in my mood, my temperament and my overall self worth. The staff, Jenn and Queen, are so lovely, empathetic and caring. I look forward to my 18 minutes of peace every day. Highly recommend TMS and Neurospa if you struggle with depression.
