I've been coming to this hospital for months and I must say the Radiology department is hands down the best department in the hospital. Every time I need to go and get imaging done the front desk lady is quite funny and provides an welcoming presence. The techs in the back for X-rays are professional and very helpful answering any questions that I had. When I had to followup with an MRI for my ankle the techs were outstanding!!!! What a breath of fresh air to have such an outstanding department within this hospital.

No one ever picks up the phone. Not the appointment line, and certainly no one on any clinics. Also, whose bright idea was it to eliminate a 24 hr ER at a major military installation’s hospital?

Disgusting hospital !!! They just had my partner taken into police custody he couldn’t leave because he was unable to pay a bill because he still has not received his November or December salary from the US navy !!!! They didn’t feed him when was a patient and as he had no money and couldn’t leave the hospital to buy food or find a good rubbish bin he hadn’t eaten for weeks. A military senior officer with 15 years of service and this is how he is treated 😡😡 I only gave you 1 star because I had to click on one to post

It's been 3 weeks since referrals were sent for car after a car accident and non of the referrals were ever sent to the providers. I have called referral management 4 times asking for help and the only help I get is.. "the authorizations are in the system they do have them". What are the odds that 4 referrals sent to 4 different providers, and they all are saying the same thing. 3 weeks waiting for care, in pain and can't get simple medical work such as an MRI.

They never answer the phone. It's a little difficult to judge them on much else when you can't even get an appointment. Really cool when your only option for receiving medical care isn't even responsive.

Was never notified by NHP that the urology clinic service was discontinued as so many of their other services have been now. Also, the line at the pharmacy to activate prescriptions sometimes gets backed up 30 patients deep. The line moves so slow that, at times, patients have to stand and wait up to an hour. Then you are told that when your name comes up on the screen in 20 - 30 minutes, get in the pick-up lane with other patients until it is your turn to get your medicine. The patient contact rep trys her best to remedy this situation. Bless her heart.

Avoid this hospital at all costs. Your wellbeing is the least thing they care about. They just can’t communicate with other departments and expect you to deliver the message from one to the other in person. Yes in person. Because they can’t be bothered to pick up the phone. The appointment line is rude as ever too. I tried to call patient advocate and left multiple messages but never got a callback. If this wasn’t military they’ll 100% going out of business.

Only posting as Whiting Field falls under this hospital. They say VA clinic here is awful but I believe the local Family Care Clinics under NASP are by far examples of the worse care you can receive. The staff do not care about patients and it’s simply a job to them, I get lack of resources but to show total disdain for someone’s wellbeing is crazy to me. I worry in a real emergent situation they will write you off and not care. This is the second time of having a bad experience with them since being retired. Once with Blue Team at NASP and now Whiting Family Care. I switched to Whiting because of the location to our home and it seemed like the Pensacola location is overcrowded and understaffed, with a dose of not caring. But at Whiting, everytime we have gone there, it’s not busy and there’s no patients being seen. The pharmacy is outdated and make you wait but it’s not as bad as NASP. Now after being out the area and injuring my knee on vacation, I was seen by a nurse at the resort. I get in town and think let me call my PCM to get seen, get a referral to Radiology for a X-RAY. I don’t know what the issue is with my need it hurts but I preferred to get care home and knew I was leaving the next day. Why spend money out in town when I can get home and get properly seen, right? Welp I was wrong. The lady over the phone stated they had a 1030 appointment but proceeds to put me on hold. She come a back on the phone tells me to go to the ER, and it’s 0800 or seek urgent care because they don’t have a X-RAY. Then puts the nurse on the phone and she was seriously rude and unprofessional. I am explaining you are sending me out in town during normal working hours to pay for care out of pocket. What’s the point of being assigned to this clinic? This is my sign to run and find Tricare Select or someone out in town that actually shows they care. The nurse gets on the phone and says we aren’t equipped to care for you and have a nice day, goodbye. Totally unprofessional and lack of care. There’s a reason the lobby stays empty and it’s pointless to have Family Care at this clinic just service the AD personnel until you can find PCM’s that actually care for their patients.
