Went today to get my new born birth certificate; the hours shown online stated that they closed at 4:30pm. Showed up at 3:59, there were employees there but the doors were locked.

The Nassau County Health Department offices are totally WORTHLESS!!! My father (100, WWII survivor Marine Corp) passed away almost a week ago and I've been trying to get a DEATH CERTIFICATE for him so that I can get the ball rolling for his Arlington funeral services ASAP. I've been calling all of the 3 offices for 90 long minutes without an ANSWER at the Fernandina Beach office. I've talked to Stephanie (she's very nice) like 3 times now in all these calls and she explained that I must deal with that office for my request. I've tried 5 different phone numbers and every extension available and NOT 0NE EMPLOYEE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE THERE. I can't do ANYTHING until I receive this from them. Shame on you for such POOR service at such a small branch office in a small town and the pandemic is over.

Nassau County Health Department gets five gold stars for their efficient distribution of the Covid vaccine. From registering on line with Eventbrite...... A system already in place to handle ticket sales.... to the actual site and set up of administration of the vaccine. A well run operation! Thank you very much... My friends and relatives in other FL counties are still trying to find out where and how to get in line.
