Just to give you an example of the ineptitude and unprofessionalism of Mount Sinai Trans health system, I wrote an in depth review of the mistreatment, malpractice & downright emotional abuse & gaslighting I suffered at the hands of Dr. Ann Tran & Psychiatrist Dr Kahn - I had a reply from the business that they would call me and reach out about my experience & they NEVER did! It is extremely difficult to track down anyone to make complaints to. No one will call or follow through or take appropriate action against abusive behavior from providers. These medical practitioners are ego tripping with unchecked power. Do not go here. I have dealt with numerous surgeons both in NY & across state lines and these 2 providers are the worst left me with emotional trauma due to their gaslighting behavior. They are bullies. They will call you a difficult patient if you voice normal concerns and demand to be treated with basic respect. I was downright submissive to these providers - which I shouldn’t have to be! I have a right to not be fearful and to have basic care from local health system. The ironic thing here is that the abusive surgeon (Dr Tran) raved about the “superior” care that Mount Sinai offers- she didn’t even want me to see my own therapist and primary care physician because of the “superior” care that was supposedly provided here. Well the “superior” Mount Sinai will not even reach out as they promised & they hired these 2 inept, mean spirited provider who labeled me a difficult patient for asking a simple question which such was “is fentanyl normal to be given during a surgery?” This question asked after this bizarre anesthesiologist was breaking down specific dosages of fentanyl he’d be giving me - anyone would ask the same when we have been warned nationally of omnipresent dangers of fentanyl. I also called Dr Trans office numerous times to get answers of my future appointments and her secretary told me to stop calling and hung up and Dr Tran would never return calls…Those 2 things apparently make one “difficult” whereas in fact she is the difficult one. It’s time for Mount Sinai to address my concerns and the concerns of its patients.

I can truly only say good things about this place. Everyone I have come in contact with has been more than helpful and supportive. I don’t know what I would do without them especially with the circumstances of why I came. Brigid has been absolutely fantastic. I don’t know what I would do without her truly. Dr. Acker has also been incredible. I feel so supported when coming here, no questions asked. I will never stop preaching about my experience here.

It’s so inaccessible and everyone there is rude as hell. The one good doctor left, and good for her. The rest of the doctors working there are jokes.

Not to mention I’ve heard so many people be deadnamed and harassed by the pharmaceutical staff in the building the three times I’ve picked up my prescription there.

I am a college student, and they are so inaccessible that I have been without Testosterone for a month now. I am feeling incredibly dysphoric, and the doctor also got me confused with another person. He said he hasn’t seen me in a year I saw him in the summer. It’s been 6 months, and now he’s saying he can’t legally prescribe to me because it’s been a year.

Save yourself the trouble. Find somewhere else.

I was here for many years after the 1st Callen Lorde closed and the 2nd hadn't yet opened, and it was always so frustrating. You never knew who your PCP was going to be every couple months because of the turnover, and when you need time specific prescriptions for hormone therapy, and no one is answering their messages for a week, and reception is sending you other people who don’t answer, until you have to take a day off of work to go in and throw a fit to have someone, anyone write you a RX for your now 2 week late hormone therapy... it was terrible. Don’t call yourself a T clinic when you take nothing about the T experience into consideration.

It's an okay clinic and the nurses are all great, but Mt. Sinai clearly works everyone there to the bone. Way too few doctors for the caseloads they have; my doctor canceled on me twice and both times they tried to give me a rescheduled date 2 months later. The staff are mostly great but Mt. Sinai as an organization really doesn't treat them well. I will say after my doctor left I was assigned a NP (I was never asked if I wanted to see a different endo) who has spent our last two appointments looking at the computer and barely glancing at me. It's clear she doesn't remember who I am. Probably not her fault, her caseload is probably so high she needs to be on the computer the whole time to get through her notes, but I've had so many ridiculous experiences here I'm getting a new endo at a hospital that doesn't overwork its clinicians.

I’ve been here for abt 4 years, I’ve had about four different doctors as none of they ever stay longer than a year. I doubt my current doctor has any idea about my over health. I’ve seen them just once and they were uninterested, they looked sloppy, and to my face told me they couldn’t help me with any of my questions. After that one visit I did get a nice bill for about 1,300 just to be ignored.

Trying to make an appointment is also something that will take weeks. No one will ever call you back, they will randomly add visits, you will call back to cancel and reschedule, they will take your message and again add a random visit again with no call back. Only to have you go in this never ending loop. Everyone from their call center to receptionists are rude and condescending.

It’s sad that as trans individuals this is what we get in terms of medical care. Considering leaving this clinic.

From the start, simply trying to get a consultation with this team is stressful. First, I gave my information, "we'll call you back in 3-5 business days". I got that runaround about 3 times.
Then, after complaining that I still hadn't seen or been called by a scheduler for the consultation, they told me "oh they were sending the message to the wrong clinic". Ok, fixed that, take my information, wait 3-5 business days, nothing.

Called again just now to them telling me I had a scheduled appointment for June 27 that I was not made aware of. I was told I should have been checking MyChart when I was being told to expect a call instead. I understand there is a disconnect between the call center the clinics use and the actual clinic, and the Mount Sinai Trans Team's reviews reflect the consequence of having a disconnect within their system. Maybe they should fix that.

Scheduling is way too hard. I constantly have to call and email multiple times before receiving any response. I'm frequently told I will be called back within certain windows of time and then no one ever reaches out to me. I'm not sure why each step needs to be scheduled individually and why multiple appointments can't be set at the same time.
